I searched the forum and found everything from GCVW to how long someone waited for a turbo.

I can't seem to find a weight for the trucks.

The question is:

89-93 long wheelbase, standard cab, two wheel drive, single rear wheels. How much do they weigh?

3/4 and 1-ton.

I have to haul a couple and need the weight to figure loads and pick up schedule.

Thanks a bunch

I had to weigh my truck to register it in California. The weight of it was 6360 Lbs. I also have a fiberglass shell on the bed, plus I weighed it with 4 gallons of diesel fuel in it. I did not want to pay extra to the state for the weight of the fuel in the truck.

Hope this helps some.

Thanks, It's a start

I am hoping to find that the two wheel drives are at or under 6K that way I can get them in one trip. It's not the end of the world if I can't. They are only 40 miles off a route I will travel a few times in the next couple of months.

Thanks!!

Anybody else??

My friend who I bought my current truck from has four '91-'93 D250 CTD's for his business. He went through a similar thing in Michigan where the cutoff is 5K. A trooper ticketed one of his trucks while pulling a trailer, so he said to contest it he ran the fuel tank down, took out the jack and spare and got it weighed at the local grain elevator and it came in just under 5K. He went out to see the trooper who weighed it on a portable scale at just over 5K. She let him slide...

My old W250 was over 6K - like Doug said...

6000 lbs. is close enough for estimation purposes. My club cab, long wheel base 4x4 weighs exactly 8000 loaded with me, a full tank of fuel and a 1200 lb. camper. Since I weigh 265, that leaves the truck at 6535, so I think your 6k estimate for a 2wd reg cab should be really close.

the '93 manual shows a curb weight, base engine(not diesel) for a D250 at 4034 lbs for the 7400 lb gvw and 4206 lbs for the 8510 lb gvw with payload of 3366 and 4304 respectively... ... I scaled in my truck with about 600 lbs of people and fuel at 7250 lbs I can't vouch for the sacle accuracy as it was at my local landfill and I've only been there once, this seems high to me though and it certainly does not leave me with much payload, the manual shows my truck weighing 4842 lbs..... (not diesel)

My 92 D250 weighs (moving van company certified scale) 6060 with 3/4 tank of fuel and me (180#) in it, as well as the 5er hitch (probably another 150#).

Also, it's a club cab.

Go for it.

My 93 extended cab 2 wheel drive , empty, certified scale, was 5700#. Had to weigh it to get it registered in Calif. Took everything out of it. Needed to get it below 6000 # to save some taxes.

Darn... ... ... I hit the truck scales with mine and it weighed 6970 lbs with me and a 1/2 tank of juice... . I wonder if I had some unnoticed bodies stuck to the underside... ...

Bob,

I don't know how much heavier the 4x4 is but with the transfer case, extra shaft, front diff, etc, there has to be at LEAST 500 lbs more there. You have over size tires so there is a few pounds. Did you have any gear in the truck? Things like a small tool box shoved under the seat, fire ext. , glove box full of "stuff" can all add up. Like I said, I took everything out of the truck and it also is a 2x4.

Last year at the sac drag strip I weighed it after a run and without me it was 6200#. I had my tool box in the back (was about half full of tools and stuff) and had some stuff in the cab.

Ran mine across the scale last year when picking up new gn trailer, truck came in at 6400LB, no tailgate, me inside (220lbs), ss running boards probably another 250lbs. Would guess my stock weight just under 6K.
