For some reason today my truck will not shut off. Tried pushing down the shutoff solenoid, unplugging the relay finally had to just let it die by bogging it down in third gear!!! Just installed 4kgsk this weekend would that have anything to do with it??? Shut off fine fine sat. night and sunday.

Help

Thanks,

Chris

We have a 12v that we have to open the hood to kill, but i think that is due to the shutoff silenoid, and you said you tried that. Hope you can figure it out, that bogging down can get rough on a clutch.

shut down solenoid

you might try disconnecting the plunger at the pump 1st. The shut down soleniod plunger or Rod might be binding inside the rubber boot. Looks like

(ball joint socket) limiting the full travel downward to rotate the valve

at the pump.

Yea... I agree with srichards. . If disconnecting the 3-lead wire feeding the solenoid doesnt kill the truck, the plunger itself may be binding up with rust, etc. . May need disassembled and cleaned up. If you disconnect the feed, and push the shutdown solenoid all the way down, and it doesnt kill the motor. . hmm. . weird stuff. . other than a runaway, which I dont think you're having. . hmm. . hmmmmmmmmmm i duno

ohya srichards56, welcome to the TDR. . (yesss another virgin... :D)

good luck
