Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Truck wont shift on its own

I have a 99 auto and when i take off it will not shift on its own. If I let off of the peddle and ease into it it will shift. It does this in 123 and possibly 4th to overdrive. Dodge did a scan tool on it and said nothing showed up. I dont want to shove a bunch of money into upgrades I just want a quick fix to get me down the road

Mine done something similiar to your problem. It started by not wanting to shift until I let off the throttle, then it got to where it would not shift out of 3rd, then 2nd , and of course 1st. The final days it got to where you stopped somewhere it would not down shift with out doing it manually. Took to trans shop, they hooked to computer said it was the governors it the trans. $400. 00 later I'm back and going. Maybe this will be of some help.
