Archived truck wont shift out of first.

my truck wont shift out of 1st gear unless i take my foot off the throttle a little bit, then it shifts to second and the rest of the gears are fine. also is there any way to make my truck idle lower? it idles almost 1,000 rpm's. i have a HRVP44 on there and mach 4 injectors and it kinda lopes/idles funny. thanks, Greg

I had the same problem. . But it was second gear that was gone. Are you sure you not going from 1st to 3rd?

yea iam positive that its going to second. it had happended before and it was just a speed sensor on the transfer case, but i already changed that. i heard i could reset my APPS , that might work. anybody know about adjusting the throttle cable because i also read that could have something to do with it. thanks, greg

Check for Codes

My truck did similar things. I bought a scanner and checked for codes and found two related to electrical bits in the transmission. The MIL never lit.

i can go to auto zone or somethin cant I ? was it something i could just drop the pan and fix? thanks
