I have a 2003 2500 High Output with 50,000 miles and the truck won't start . This past week it has taken longer to start up in the morning and puts out a puff of white smoke when in finally starts. I just checked the codes and I get P0633 and P0514. I also just changed the fuel filter which did not help. Any suggestions? Thanks

p0633-immobilizer key not programmed

p0514-battery temp. sensor

I would start by pulling the battery cables for about 15 minutes to see if it helps by resetting the system. I havent heard of these codes before. Do you have any fueling boxes or programmers on it? if so take them off to see if it cures the problem.

I tried the Bullydog trial downloaer a couple of days ago and after it was downloaded, my truck did not want to start. We then returned it to stock and disconnected my batteries and it fired right up, so it probably has something to do with that. Any idea why it takes longer to crank and puffs out white smoke when it never did this before. I did disconnect my batteries and took off the Edge EZ.

Thanks,

Chris

I am not sure how the trial works, but downloaders in general seem to have a problem with the skim key or the anit theft devices on some of the trucks. Maybe after your download expired it did not turn the skim key back to stock?

0514 is very common and does not have anything to do with the truck not starting or the download, it is a battery code that DC needs to completely get rid of.

If it still will not start or has issues I would call the guys you got the trial download from, they may have to flash your truck again.
