just went to start truck an its dead, dead as in no electric, no dome light no hazards nothing. what could it be . the batt. are good optima reds. where do i start is there a main fuse. truck was fine yesterday when i parked it now nothing. something happened over night. please help

Get a teat lite to see where the power ends , but use a multi meter 1st at least 12. 6-7 volts , there are fusible links coming off the batteries ,
Let us know what you find .

Don't assume because the batteries are optima reds that they are ok. When testing electrical, you need to start with the basics, first take both batteries and have them load tested to see if they hold a charge and what their current capacity is. How old are the batteries and what was the temperature last night? Batteries tend to fail more frequently durning periods of extreme heat or cold.

After you know that your batteries are good, either by the results of the load test or replacement, you should then begin the process of testing the rest of the truck. Take either a test light or a multimeter and check the power distribution box under the hood to see if power is there.

If you should need to replace your batteries, remember to do both, even if they say one is good and one is bad. If you don't do them in pairs, you will shorten the lifespan of the new one that you put in.

well both batt. were DEAD! wife told me she heard my compressor running the night before so it must have ran all night an killed the batt. put a charger on them for an hour, now all is well:D

Now that is a tool that I don't have in my toolbox! Where can I get one of those teat lites? ;) Do the teats light up or just get warm when the test for continuity is good? :D

You'll have to read the manual that came with your girl friend / wife , but its very complicated reading .
Some times the typeo's are better the the real responses .
