About a week ago I shut my truck off, went into a store, came out and it wouldn't start. Tried cranking it several times and nothing. Let it sit for about 3 minutes, and it fired right up, and has been fine until yesterday where it did the same exact thing again.

The only thing I noticed is that I tried draining the fuel when it wouldn't start and it would come out foamy for a second or two, then was fine. Close it and wait a minute and it is foamy again.

I have a FASS, it shouldn't be foamy should it?

The truck has seemed to give off some odd vibes at times when coming to a stop. Also, the day before it wouldn't start the first time. I was backing up and it wasn't going then surged, like it came back to normal power. It did this again while in a drive through.

I have gotten 2 codes since, one for a low exhaust pressure sensor, and another for a fan circuit low. The exhaust is probably because I've had my exhaust brake stick on a couple times. I have to put the truck to neutral for it to disengage. Also, when I stick on the remote starter and let it run for about 15 minutes, I get a faint smell like a shorting wire, or melting wire insulation.

Any ideas on the non-starting? I need to get this fixed.

I'd say the foamy fuel is concerning. Now that we're in arctic temperatures, is it possible you've got some gelling issues? Do you have an LP fuel pressure gauge?

Can you remind us the details of your truck? I clicked your truck specs link and it went to "Car Domain", which claimed "no such document".

I don't think there are gelling issues, all the fuel around here is blended, and after I first saw that I added some PS fuel treatment, and checked the fuel again later and it was still foamy.

I have a pressure gauge and all is well on the gauge, 15-17 psi as usual. Fresh filter also.

Will have to fix that link, 2003 HO 4x4. TST PMCR, FASS HPFP, AFE, MBRP exh. , Fuel vent kit. I think that is it for drivetrain mods.

OK, clarify... you have a FASS with full filters or just the HPFP with the OE filter?

I agree with Little Bill, it sounds like you have an air leak or are sucking air at the pickup (like running out of fuel)... ''

I am trying to figure out where you are draining "foamy fuel" from?? The FASS water separator or the OE filter housing??? Could be the FASS connection on top of the tank is leaking or the filter change (leaking filter) is the cause??
