Well I had my injectors I bought from Dynomite Diesel installed in my 06 Megacab (90hp injectors). The shop that did the install is a Cummins authorized maintenance shop. The technician drove the truck after the install. He said the truck ran great and had excellent power but then the engine light came on ,so he turned the truck off cycled the key to get rid of the light, and tried to start it. It hasn't started since. He said it ran great and had good power then the light came on. You guys have any ideas?

They said they got a code that pointed to the high pressure fuel pump. Is this the CP3 ? This truck only has 5,300 miles on it. Would the pump go out that soon?

M. Murray - I had my injectors sent to DDP for extrude honing earlier this week. My mechanic is a "Dodge Tech" with "Plenty of Cummins experience" who was doing the work for me on the side (in his private shop). He called me yesterday after he re-installed the honed injectors - said "THE TRUCK WONT START". He apparently had done some pressure testing and said that the CP3 wasn't putting out any fuel.

Needless to say, I wasn't very happy. By the time that I had gotten to the shop, the truck was running. Apparently one of the injectors wasn't fully seated (visibly after reinspection). After removing and re-installing the connector rod and injector, things seemed to be OK. I'm not sure if the system somehow senses the improper assembly, or the pressure in the system changes (high or low) triggering the deactivation of the CP3, but at first glance that seemed to be the problem for me.

Maybe consider having your mechanic repeat the install procedure paying particular attention to alignment issues of the injector in the head, torquing appropriately, and see if this is another "seating" problem.

SAG2 did an excellent write-up recently on the injector install procedure for the HPCR, which may be helpful to bring to the mechanic.

In the end - I wish I had the nuts to just do it myself. Every time I think I am over my head with this truck and bring it to someone else for help doing something - I realize that us owners almost always do a better job of things by taking our time, reading instructions, and double checking.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I felt the same way about doing it myself. I will give my mechanic a call and have them recheck everything. Did your truck throw a code? I did see the post about injector installation and thought it to be great info. I will also refer them to this post as the shop owner is a TDR member. Thanks.

Just thought I would update this thread. The local shop could not get the truck to run with DDPs injectors. I had to take the truck to DDP in Washington and have them put the injectors in . The truck now runs awsome. I am very happy with the parts and service I got from Dynomite Diesel. I will definitely look towards getting thier injectors put in my other two trucks.
