Haven't seen this one on here yet.....
Last weekend snowmobiling 250 miles away from home. Come back to the truck after having parked it for three days at the Sno-Park. Hit the key and the starter cranked for about a half second and then stopped. At that point the panel lights were doing odd things and the security light was blinking. I thought that I had somehow 'fooled' the beast into thinking I was trying to steal it. All electric’s seems just fine but absolutely no crank. Tried closing doors locking with key instead or remote, and anything else I could think of that would tell the truck she was mine…… Finally gave up and hitch hiked to a payphone where I could call a tow. Left it at Hood River Dodge for the week and got a ride back to Seattle. Dealer calls and says they repaired a wire to the starter. Evidently the connector on one of the starter solenoid binding posts had shifted such that it was shorting out on structure. I never would have guessed that! And sure wouldn’t have thought to look for it in a snow covered parking lot. But what a pain in the hiney for such a piddly little item. I confimred also that it was not the TSB for starter wiring that I have seen documented here as well.
Imagine the embarrassment of having to call a buddy with a PS to come rescue me and my trailer full of toys…. .
