when I got my truck about a year and a half ago I had the dealer check the brakes, they were suposidly ok. I replaced the fronts with powerslots and good pads. still did not stop well. I just figured it was the truck.
so my brakes started to squeel and I was checking all of them, I came across metalic flakes on my left rear wheel and tire. so I tore into the rear brakes.
come to find out, the inside pad had no friction material whatsoever. I replaced that side and moved on to the other side, kind of confused to what happened, seeing the slides and pistons mooved very freely.
well upon removal of the other side the inner lining fell right out of the caliper bracket, and was only about half there to begin with. the backing plate was rotted. looke like the lining seporated from the plate, on the inside. great.
truck has 70k on it right now. the outers were only 1/2 worn.
good thing dodge checked them!
this also explains the sound of parts falling off my truck I have been hearing. lol.
