I was driving my 98. I was fishing at a local fishing hole when I heard a noise like somebody had run into my pickup. I went to investigate, the truck was about 2 mins from where I was standing, when I arrived the cab is ablaze. There were several explosions so I made my way through the woods around the truck. I didnt get to look at the passenger side. The reason I say is because the fire department suggested arson. They figure someone tossed in an incindiary device. I didnt hear or see anyone but dont mean it didnt happen. It took me 10 minutes to get the police on the phone and the fire truck on the way. By the time the fire truck arrived the fuel tank went up finishing the burn in a rapid fashion. I am seriously bummed out. This area I fish in is known for rowdy behavior with firearms and alchohol. The troopers patrol it now on 4 wheelers because someone ran over a cop out there with their quad. Live and learn. It was insured so its not a total loss to me. I will miss her dearly. Hats off for a moment of silence for bessy.

WOW, that sucks. Really sorry to hear that kind of news. Hope it all works out for you. (nice replacement and the hides of those responsible)

This happened in ALASKA?!?! I thought that kind of thing didn't go on up there. Wow, that's rotten... ... ... ... ... .

Well, here's to a new 2004!

Hang in there

I'm sorry for your loss. I bet it was hard to watch. I know it would be for me. Even if the fire department was there in 2 minutes it would have still been a total loss or at least a big mess.

Better find another fishing hole! Dang vandals!! Guy cant even park his diesel and go catch a fish without getting his truck burned down. What a world.

:{ :{ :{ "Man that sucks donkey ball$" as Erick Cartman would say. Cant even take some time off with out some one messing it up. Best of luck to you in the paper work war. Feel sorry for ya.

They took away all the outlets for the kids to blow off steam now this is what we get. A few years ago I had the option to go have a few drinks and get out my demons without worrying too much about the gestapo arresting me. Those days are gone and these kids dont have any place to do the hairball stuff we did. It builds up and they do stupid stuff like this. If I had caught em, boy that woulda been great.

Ive been moping around all day. Im not too worried about the insurance company. I havent made a claim in 6 or 7 years. They seem to be dotting all the Is and crossing the Ts to get this case along rapidly. The fact that it was most likely vandalism may make it easier to close. So says the firechief. If the truck had a fault theyd want to investigate. I had a lot of time love and money in that rig. She will be missed.

On a positive note. I will get into an 03 a little sooner. This cloud does have a somewhat silver lining.

Sorry for your loss. You had a ton of $$$ and time invested in her. Any hope of salvaging any of your after market stuff? The insurance corp-rats will most likely not cover any performance mods, just before they try to say that those mods caused the fire if the Fire dept can't give a positive statement on arson.

That really SUX,

Sounds to me like you need to lay off fishin' for awhile and take up "Varmint" huntin";)

Vent Mode on:

You can't blame society for the delinquents.

It's not OUR job to teach these punks disapline.

Mamma & Daddy need to teach these kids to repect others property.

I'd have NEVER tried to do something like that when I was growing up.

My father would have just buried my body out behind the garage.

Sorry to hear about your truck. I lived up there for 8 years, and I didn't think that kind of thing happened up there. But that was a few years ago.

Well, said, but in a way, it is our society's fault. With all the gov't interference, parents can't discipline their kids the way they need to without fear of repercussion. I also think, as an adult, it is our job, to at least speak up when we see a kid stepping out of line, if not to the kid, then to the parents. Ultimately, yes, the parents are, (or should be), responsible. But, that's a whole nuther thread.

Very nearto jim creek. Was fishin a clear water sluegh. I have a pic but I suck at attaching files. I have it in my email but I am stuck there. Can anyone provide me with instructions.

Cheers,

Its hard to see from this angle but the fram was starting to sag from the heat. The top of the bed had hit the cab and was holding the fram up. Where the bed was touching the cab was starting to melt so it wouldve continued to sag farther and farther until it touched the ground. It was still very much in flames when the fire department put it out.

Huh I wonder how i missed two e's but just in frame.

This is funny. This lady had her 84 2wd ford burn. She is convinced that she can rebuild it and wont listen to reason.

If it chears you up...

A while back my wifes company had lay offs and she was talking to a co-worker who had gotten laid off. She said "this must be the worst day or you life" he said NO and told the following:

One day on the way to work this guy hits him in traffic and takes off, hit and run. He did not get the licence or anything and gets to to work and the insurance company is giving him greif about not covering it, bad day? no wait it gets better. Later that day, he gets a call from a neighbor who tells him is house is on fire. Sure enough he finaly gets home in time to watch all his possesions burn to the ground. Lost his car and his house and pretty much everything else he owned in one day. Oh and the insurance company still did not believe he had been hit in the car!!!

So I try to think of that when things don't go right for me... Hope everything works out.

Oh and on the kids note. I think joint jail time is in order. Parents either pay for damages (maybe a little more for "pain and suffering") or get to spend the time in the jail cell with their kids. Either way the kid goes to jail. Forget this "Johny needs a time out" crap spank the little s#$%...

Sympathy reply 18...

Sorry to hear about your loss. I absolutely cannot imagine what it's like, and hope I never have to.

That said, I know that what comes around, goes around. It has to... nature seeks equilibrium, so the lowlife scum that did this WILL get theirs, whether you give it to them, or others do.

When you get that new truck, enjoy it!

Duane
