what a bummer!!! As a fellow Alaskan that really ticks me off!!! kids up here are such punks!!!! Up here around Fairbanks if a car breaks down along side the road, give it a day, and people will strip it down to nothing, break all the windows out, and flatten all the tires. Give it 2 days, and it will be burnt!! What a damn shame!!! Sorry to hear about your loss, but enjoy that 03!!!!

Just visited with an Alaskan on the phone for a couple of hours.

He said he is likely going to have to leave Alaska because of the crime, the dope, and the riff raff.

Yea, but did you catch anything?

sorry couldn't resist, sorry about your loss, you probably just about got it fixed up where you wanted, and now you get to start all over with a brand new 04! I would talk to a lawyer to deal with the insurance company though, could be worth your while!

I had always envisioned Alaska as being above this for the most part... . ya know, spirit of cooperation, takes a village, watch out for others kinda things. I guess my search for a good retirement place will have to continue.

Sorry for the loss and best of luck with the new ride.

Brian

Big_Daddy_T I am so sorry for your loss.

Here on Kodiak we get that all the time. If they steal your car better figure you will find it burned out. Read somewhere that most of our crime problem is from kids (16-28) being shipped up here from the big cities down south to wait until the heat cools back home. They don't change their behavior and it is actually easier to commit crime here.

I guess this is the side of Alaska the chamber of commerce doesn't mention:eek: .

And I was thinking about trying to get a job up there in the spring. Hmmmmm:confused:

I can't imagine how bad you must feel. There are a lot of cars stolen in northern MN that are found toasted on the Indian reservations.

I figure you must have been grieving when you said, "They took away all the outlets for the kids to blow off steam now this is what we get". That's crap and we all know it. You are the victim not them.

Hope you find another truck and a safer fishing hole.
