Trucks arrived this morning! We will go pick them up this afternoon for a weekend test drive/road test.

Any pointers anyone wants to list for us to look for? We are going to do the inspection from the Dodge ram.org site and check for the launch schudder, 65-75 MPH vibration, ect. But, if there is anything else please feel free to list them here.

We are not going to take delivery until Monday 4-4-05, so we have a bunch of test/inspection time.

Thanks to all,

I would check the mpg should get close to 17-18 hyw reset overhead display, see what you get doing 75 . also check for wind noise at door seals . at 4k my 6sp launch shudder and pinging have dissapeared .

boone59,

Thanks, we'll check that.

Check the paint on the front bumpers and intercooler... Sometimes a tech/detail guy will stand on the front bumper and dent the fins on the intercooler and then scratch the paint with his shoes... just FWIW

Just curious... how close are the VINs? I'd imagine the last 6 digits should be very close if DC did the order right.

Drive faster that 75. I know most won't go over 75 most of the time, but sometimes you have to and you don't want to find out there's a problem when you are in a situation where you need to go that fast. Also, take it off pavement and test the 4 wheel drive. You don't have to thrash it, just make sure it works with no strange noises or binding. Test everything before you sign the papers.

Yes I have done 85-95mph but only when rushing my daughter to the emergency room at 2am or so.

So far I have 140 miles of easy driving/testing and have taken it up to 80 mph last night, but wanted to get a few more miles on it before pushing it further. I have not gone off road yet but will get the chance today.

I am really liking this truck so far. I will say that hanging out on this board, you can get the impression that these trucks come with all kinds of problems, but is seems that these problems are effecting a small number of trucks. Some problems are even truck type specific (i. e. long bed, 4wd, dually, Atuo... . etc... . ).

P. S. Apparently DC is waiting until close of Business 4-4-2005 (Monday) to list the new rebates (if any), because there waiting to see what Ford and GM are going to do. So I will get to drive the trucks until Tuesday before buying. I wanted to wait until the new rebates are out, to see if I can do better than what I locked in at, in Feburary.
