Sounds like U joints. Mine on the rear shaft went out at exactly 100,000 miles, and these ones for whatever reason do not check like other U Joints you may be accustomed to, you really have to get some leverage on them, have a shop check them. $$$ on at least one will be having dried up remains in one of the caps. Been covered here before also. Be sure to get greasable ones, IIRC, Spicer Part # 3-1088. Definitely get checked before you go on trip, they get bad real quick!

Thanks MMeier, Try to get something done today before I leave but it's doutful with all the bad weather this weekend. Thinking of just letting it go until I get back from the Northwest. Thanks again!

hhhhmmm... to many years of learning the hard way by not taking good advise. didn't see what you said about getting them check before I go. I'll check NAPA this morning and see if they have them in stock. Might have to get "tough" and work in the rain today. I'll do them myself so I'll just replace all three.

I'm having trouble finding these Spicer u-joints. I was also told the Precision replacments are not the correct size. Where can I find the spicer 3-1088 ?

Maybe try Neapco 3-0188, thats the tag off the end of the box mine came in... also has Spicer 5-188X. Hopefully that helps. Keep me posted.
