Truck's OK, thanks everyone!

Thanks to phillips5 for coming out and looking at my truck and explaining the 'normal' noises of an old Cummins with lots of miles on it
Thanks to everyone here for their support and suggestions - the TDR is a great resource.
Now I can get back to driving something with a real engine it it!

yeah, it takes a while to get tuned to the Cummins music after being around gassers all your life, but it quickly becomes the only song you wanna hear!

Yea. . I was at my son's shop yesterday helping him get a 95 running... . (fuel issues. . solved). After we had it running everyone was saying "do you hear that rod knocking?".

I just laughed. Normal Cummins music I said. . get used to it!

Glad to hear that everything worked out OK. I was worried wbout you for a while.



You are right about the TDR, especially the First Gen crowd. They are the greatest collection of geniuses and smart*sses that you could ever hope to find anywhere!!!



The only down side to a Cummins is that sometimes, by the time you can hear a non-engine related problem, it is REALLY messed up. Get used to what "normal" sounds like and you'll know when somethings out of whack... . maybe.
