Is it just me or is anyone else getting tired of the same old Bullydog Duramax upgrades? I mean when are they man up a put a Dodge together. On there new show they showed the Duramax pulling a 130,000# tractor low-boy combo. Seriously I don't doubt we have a few trucks on this site that wouldn't have a problem with that. All I'm saying is I for one am sick of the Duramax and Powerstroke shows. Ok rant off. I just want to see a complete Dodge Cummins upgrade for a change. Maybe a 3rd Gen with a T. S. T. or Edge Juice w/Attitude monitor.

I quit watching those jerks quite a while ago. They took a great old IH pickup and made a hot rod out of it so that it really was not a truck any more. Chopped, shortened the bed, and put a small block V8 in it. They have no idea what a truck is. Just another hot rod show.

Joe its only Stacey now, they got rid of Mel a WHILE ago.

I got to meet Stacey at a tractor pull not to long ago (hell the show is filmed only 30 minutes from my house), he seemed like a real down to earth guy for the few minutes I got to talk to him.

I asked him when he was gonna do a 12V CTD show, and told him briefly about my previous truck that did 430RWHP with a #10 & PDR 370's. He seemed interested and said to look for more CTD episodes (including a 12V one! Oo. ) after the first of the year... ... . SO I'M LOOKING! :-laf

The entire show is just a showcase of the sponsoring manufacturers products. They install more accessorys on a truck than its even worth. I do get a kick out of a 15000 dollar jeep with 20000 worth of accessorys, then they take it out and beat it,scratch it up and act like it was a success :-laf . Id rather see them build real trucks,in the real world, within a real world budget that most of us have.

there are so many things wrong i can spot in these shows.

as on Horsepower TV (the horsepower hauler):

"now, we're going to use propane because it's a higher octane fuel than diesel"

um... .

btw, get kent crowder's truck to pull that rig stacey did today... :-laf

Pulling a 130,000 lbs. loaded semi, big frickin deal. I would imagine most of the trucks on here could do that w/o to much trouble. Personally I have pulled a loaded semi with a 454 chebby, don't really know the weight but it was a fertilizer rig with 2500 gal. tank about half full w/ all the smaller tanks (5) full, plus the spray rig was loaded on the back.

Horsepower TV ran a few episodes on a 24v CTD awhile back. But nevertheless wether it's Ford, Chevy, or Dodge I think it really opens peoples eyes to what diesels are capable of VS. their gassers. But the BS antics and such that they do on the shows are a bit much sometimes.

There is a new show on now right before Trucks, Xtreme 4X4, the first show was this weekend, it was pretty cool they put a 10" Kelderman lift on a 3rd gen 2500, it was a Hemi but it was still pretty cool. They showed all the parts and what was involved in the install, can't remember what size tires they ended up putting on it but they were huge with a crazy offset, they stuck out about 6" on each side.

I watched Trucks with the Bully Dog Duramax thought it was pretty cool, looked like the truck was really working to get the tractor and trailer moving, it was a 4X4 dually.

Well, I think the shot of that Chevy pulling that truck was cool, even if it was a Chevy.

I noticed that Stacey mentions that "you all know that to get more power from a Diesel you add more air... but there's another side of the equation: the electronics!" [not quite a direct quote, but close]. Does the Duramax use a different fuel control than the Cummins? I mean, he claimed on the show that he had to "remove the mass air flow sensor" during the installation of the new filter box. Does the DMax have a fuel control like a gasser (ECM senses airflow rate and adjusts fuel rate accordingly)?? I'm confused.

I like how he completely skipped the pyrometer installation... the hardest part of the whole job!!

Duramax is no different than our new third gen Cummins. Same injection system, similar electronics control capabilities.

The Dmax is nice for plugging stuf into but it's not so easy to do mechanical mods like our Cummins. There are no turbo upgrades because the turbo setup is such a one of a kind design.

Dmax does need air sense just like the GenIII Cummins. The computer needs to know how much air is coming in so it can command fuel.

There is no mass air flow sensor, at least on my 2003 engine.

Anyone have a clip of the maxi-pad pullin the trailer, Ive heard about it but yet to see it.

The reason they put Dmaxi-pad and terd ferds on there is because they need all those add-ons to match a CUMMINS! I dont care what ferd/GM owners say, a CUMMINS is a proven motor for the power and longevity thats its packing! Yeah the trans and lift pump is a known problem with our trucks but if DC was to put a FASS (or other simlar product) and DTT (or other similar product) trans as an option in the trucks they would be unstopable!

There was a better show on afterwards doing the ultimate truck challange. It was 4x4 off roading on a biult course and it was punishment. The winning truck was a 1 ton GMC and it pulled a twin axle dump uphill on a off road course the furthest. These weren't street trucks, purely off road stuff.

I like the show.

Its all about who pays for what on what truck.

The Cummins products would be on there more if the companies were paying for the air time.

They have no loyalty to brand name well except for the green brand.

I watch the show because it is better than Pimp my ride, or similar shows, and since I don't have a pickup to work on, drive, or stare at, I watch. Plus the show is called trucks not Diesel Torque TV. They have to make projects that are interesting to an awfully large group. I am just glad diesels are getting some exposure. I think it will continue to increase too.

I also notice mistakes such as the banks exhaust install on the super duty stroker. He said that it was too cluttered under the truck to show the install but in reallity the truck already had a dual system installed.

All in all, not a bad show.

i like watching the show but i also am pretty tired of the ford and durmax bullydog stuff. i would love to see him do a couple mods to a good ole' 12v and then take it out for a joy ride. i bet that's all he would be driving after that. LOL.

I agree with all the responses here, I do get tired of watching all the repeats that they do, and all the cheby and furd stuff, its time to start working on some Dodges. Lately all the shows have been repeats of Copper Head, Crazy Horse, and that poor International pickup that he butchered. yesterday day was a marathon of trucks and again it was all the same stuff, and the same test drives, and I don't know how many times he's going to show us the build up of that jeep they are calling the Tomarater. That was ridicules. I like to know what the total coast of that build was, there was not one stock part left on that jeep. He started to work on that 1941 Dodge Power Wagon, Iv seen I think it was 2 episodes on it and that was it. Iv seen him get it running 6 times now.

All in all its a good show it dose show a lot of good stuff but time to stared doing the Dodges and Cummins stuff.

Yeah,I like watching those shows like trucks, horse power ext . Its like a big add for products when they build a rig they put on all kinds of gadgets some or cool some are cheesie. The average Joe does,nt have a lift, plasma cuter and specialized jacks/lifts for rearend ,trany and doors. I like that project copper head but the $$$ it would cost to build a rig like that 572 crate engine, built transmission, gear venders overdrive, custom rearend, Bear brakes and more . I still like watching these shows better than some of the other stuff on tv . :)When they showed that D-max doing that pull i was woundering when that turbo was going to let losse I saw one with my own eyes do it at a local dyno day in Oct . Ouch$$$$
