Installing a 7-Pin 5th Wheel Connector on 2004's

Who has installed a True Speed on their truck, save me a look in the manual when I get home tonight, where is the ABS Module located??

Under the hood, Driver side, When looking at the battery, on the front window side. The connector is the one closest to the battery out of the two that are on the ABS module. I am not sure on the wire, it has been a few months, but I think it is pin 12. Check the instructions to make sure, but the module is in the closest spot to the driver side font window under the hood. Good luck, I had a blast hooking it up.

I've got one one mine too, just make sure you check which wire to spice by counting the pins, as there are a couple wires that are the same color.

I concur. It's easy to install, and has infinite adjustability. It also has a switch for if you run two different size tires (e. g. summer/winter). BTW, I believe it's a white wire with an orange stripe.

How much are these and where do you get one? I am not sure if I will keep the 315's when more sizes are available so a way to adjust this myself would be great.

It's a diagnostic fee of $45 if they won't just do it for you it sure helps with the 315's and the way the transmission acts on my truck anyway.

I know how the dealer does it. Mine charges $35. I just want to know how much this true speed thing is for future reference.

I didn't think that the dealers could calibrate more than a couple of tire sizes.

I thought that the 315's were too big to calibrate at the dealers.

Anyone know anything about this?

i'd rather pay for a box to fix the speedo than hand my keys over to the dealer folks...

reviews here sound good. i think i have to look into getting one. .

They sell them at just about any 4x4 shop as it's made by SuperLift. I paid $175, but I think I saw it for $169 before. I think you're right CKurtz, the 315's are too big for the steal** to compensate fully. At least that's the way it was for my '02... Besides that, why not have full adjustability for yourself. The less a steal** touches my truck, the better.

I got mine done through the dealer and it is dead on. You really don't need to spend another 120 bucks if you don't plan on changing gears and or tires all the time. There computer has an other setting which lets them program any number of revolutions for the tires you get.

Thanks for the replies, what I meant to ask specifically was which pin/plug to be sure, but one plug has too few pins anyway.

As for color the red/white and orange/white do look very similar, until you look under the tape.

... ... . accurate now to . 1 mph at 70, and it comes with a warranty extender mode :D ..... just set the other position so that it indicates half the speed, instantly double your warranty... .....
