I just purchased one of those truspeed calibrators and installed it. (warranty is expired, no reason to keep the mileage down anymore) I had to splice into (hopefully the right wire) a white wire with and orange stripe coming from the speed sensor on the differential that goes to the RWAL.

It's not working.

I read somewhere that I might need a different module since I only have rear abs.

Does anybody have experience with this? Do I need a different module, a additional module, or can I use the Abbot mod listed somewhere in this forum?

Dont have your signature so unsure what year but I did my '98 LONG ago and will look up in my wiring updates for lead I used.

I picked up the speed sensor circuit at the ABS unit underhood. I did this BECAUSE I wired in a 2-pin doetsch plug where I split the circuit—the Truspeed plugs in here. Remove it and install a plug with jumper and the truck is back to OEM without rewiring—in case the Tru-speed fails or for testing.

NOW on to powering the Tru-speed. Mine had this stupid AGC fuse holder like a 70's 8-track and when IT developed conductivity problems my speedometer and cpm had a nervous breakdown. If that's what they are still providing CUT IT OFF and wire an inline blade fuse holder—that's the automotive standard now unless you're driving the Wayne's World Mobile!!

Other than those changes mine has been faultless for over 150K.

PS MTD Doetsch gasketed plugs available many places including Key automotive assec. distributors.

OK here's the deal: from Service Manual page 8W-34-3 at C1 plug (terminal 12) of the Controller Anti-Lock Brake I 'split':

G7

20

WT/OR

According to my notes in this line I put the female doetsch—the male plug carries the signal FROM the CAB into the TruSpeed and out TO PCM. OR swap in the jumper plug for testing.

Solid Local ground at the Truspeed and power as I noted above and you should be good to go! Hope this helps!!

Ok, thanks. I have it between the speed sensor and the CAB. I'll repost after I move the connection.
