ok, here is the deal:

I talked to my used car manager, He has seen alot of these truck go thru the auction in the last 4 months, and He has not bought any!!

Because most of the wierdos that are not actual dodge dealers are driving the price up to about $2000 under factory invoice -- Plus then they want to make a few bucks on top of that, (heck just get a new one!)

SOOO -- he knows what I sell new trucks for, SOO that is really a sucky deal, And they sat in about 20-24 inches of water and for that wimpy price? no way!

That is all I know, so far the prices at the auction suck for someone like me that is a authorized "5-star" dealer, and can buy brand new ones for a bit more

Tom, I take it that storm "damaged" rigs are put out on insurance auctions. If what you say is true, are they really going for such a premium? I can't belive that one would buy a non-warrentied rig for top dollar. Can you post the auction site? Merry Christmas, Mike

Not really, thses are at the normal dealer auctions. And they are warrantied, But the non-dodge dealers are buying them. The actual dodge dealers are not buying them because they know what new ones go for... so they hold back on them... At least this is what the used car manager told me...

Just wait till you starting seeing these on lots, I bet they will be high priced

Tom,

How would a buyer know whether or not he is looking at a "storm" truck? Is the seller required to make a disclosure of some sort? Will it show-up on a CarFax report?

Carfax: It should...

And I know WE are required to disclose that kind of info... so I hope others are as well

Local used car lot up here has a 2004. 5 SLT 6 speed with 6K on it. I ask the price and they said 34K+, I said I could go buy a new one for less than that and walked. Decided to do the upgrades to the 2001. 5. Here it is a couple months later and yesterday it was still setting there. SNOKING
