Tryin to find a 2006

I am in California and I am trying to get an 06 before they are all gone. Looking for MEGA CAB 2500 or 3500 SRW 4x4 laramie sunroof 4. 10 Silver... additional options would be nice too... . but those are the min. Been impossible to locate in CA dealerships. Is there a TDR member that can perform a nationwide dealer search? Thanks in advance.



PS Once I find this I will also have for sale a Silver 2005 2500 Laramie 4x4 auto Quad Cab 32,000 miles. Why? Because I want a Mega Cab and Exhaust Brake with warranty.

Well, good luck, I spent a lot of time trying to find mine that I bought 3 weeks ago.

I wanted the manual trans Mega Cab and only found 3 of them to my liking with the options I wanted as far east as Colorado, as far south as Arizona and as far north as Vancouver. I guess it was meant to be as the one I purchased out of the 3 I found was only 30 minutes away from my home town just upstate a few hours.

You'll find what you are looking for with an auto transmission as they are a dsime a dozen, but if you want the manual, you better keep searching, not to mention the manual trucks do not come with the 4. 10 gears and trust me you don't want that low of gear set in the axle anyway. I am turning almost 2700 RPM @ 80 MPH with the 3. 73 gears!

Also, I am not sure but I think they only offer the exhaust brake in the manual trucks as well. I know my local dealer sells a bunch of Mega cabs with the exhaust brake, to be honest, I think all their Mega Cabs on the lot had the exhaust brake. I wished I got one on mine, then one would NEVER have to put new set of brake pads on the truck.

Woodhouse in Blair NE has 3 06s. 2 6spds (1 red 1 white) and 1 auto (red). I know they deliver all over the country.

Not sure on the 4:10 they don't list that on the site.

What about Carson Dodge outta Carson City or maybe Dave Smith Motors out of Idaho, and Tomey Gun outta St Louis. I would think if there is a truck available, they would find it for you. Scotty

John Howard Motors in Waynesburg PA has a 06 2500 in silver. I couldn't pull up the window sticker. It was $49500.

I agree with Starrma, why not a 2007? The ones currently on the lot have the same 5. 9 liter TD engine and the same transmissions. Very few cosmetic changes to them.

If you order a 2007 now, it may make it in before Christmas. It will still have the 5. 9. If you wait too long, you will have to wait even longer because they shut the factory down between Christmas and New Years. Throw in Thanksgiving and I was told it could take 8-12 weeks!

Dave Smith Motors

I ordered an '07 through Dave Smith on 10-29. They claim to still be able to get 5. 9's. Two local dealers here in San Diego say they can only order 6. 7's. Hope my order makes it in time! Supposed to be assigned a tracking # this week. Dave Smith has a number of '06's and many '07's on the lot. I needed a ca. certified one. 1-800-635-8000 x 1302 Les McDaniel. Good guy.

Contact Folsom Lake Dodge just east of Sacramento, they gave me a deal I couldnt refuse on my 06, they had a bunch of Rams on their lot a couple weeks ago with $10K off sticker, be careful buying anything out of state, it has to have the California sticker to get registered Oo.

Well said. Dave Smith did a search and nothing existed in an '06 or '07 within 1500 miles for me. Special order was the only alternative. Ca certified is a must for us Ca buyers.

I had heard that no matter when you get an 07 you are subject to smog checks every two years like gas engines. Even with the 5. 9. If this is wrong then I will reconsider an 07 with a 5. 9. I just really dont want the emission hassles. Thanks!

sounds possible but i havent heard anything. the pumps here all say ULSD for 07's in mandatory. where is ca. are ya. lithia in medford seems to have more trucks than room everytime i go by. most are diesels too. silly fads
