I want to put a stop to the KDP before it happens. I live in the mountains of NM and it is hard to find a mechanic you can trust or just a mechanic. Albuquerque and Santa Fe are in a semi close range to us. Rocky Mountain Cummins is about two hours away, and I am not sure they would do the fix with the jig. I guess I will have to call them about that. I only have 56,000 on my 97 2500, but I want to make sure that nothing happens to my toy. I just bought the truck and it is the first time I have owned a 2nd generation. I had a 93 W250 before.

Thanks

Russ

I think the closest shop to you with a jig is in Texas.

Just do the fix yourself. If you can install gauges or even change the fan belt you can do the jig fix, it's very easy. One user of the NW jig had Cummins NW do the fix for him, he bought in the jig. Cummins mechanic was very impressed with it.

agreed

I agree with illflem. You can do it yourself easily. The directions are excellent. Just take your time and follow the directions. I was scared to death drilling that hole, but it went smooth. To me the toughest thing was believing that the countersink hole was the proper depth. It sure looked like it was too deep but everything worked perfectly. Trust yourself. You will be fine. :D
