Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Tsb 09-088-02

This TSB has to do with engine knock or rattle when towing. I think mine is doing this on a small scale and I was wondering if anyone had had it done. What is so special with this thermostat compared to stock and why only when complaing about knock? What is the temp range 180 or 190? Did you get it covered under warranty?

engine knock or bucking when towing

Had the same problem last year when my truck whould buck like a fueling problem only towing. Took it to Cummins and they took 3 weeks 60hrs to determine it was a thermostate, called thermostate hammering. Put a new one in solved the problem.
