Tsb 18-005-06?

The check engine light came on the other day in my '06. My wife said the truck took a long time to start, shifted hard and seemed to be missing some.



The dealer performed tsb 18-005-06 listed as an ECM reprogram, along with the two recalls I had not had done yet



Does anybody know what the reprogram entails? Truck ran perfectly on the way homs so the problems are fixed. It just seemed strange that after 27k miles it would all the sudden develop a software glitch and be so easily repaired.

I just got off the phone with my service guy. That TSB doesn't even show up on his screen, but it could be that the TSB doesn't apply to our '05. TSB 18-003-06 (long crank start and transmission shift enhancement) did, however, so when I go in Wednesday, they're going to see if that one has already been programmed into my ECM.

HERE is the TSB he is talking about. Someone just PM'd me about this TSB and I replied that I did not know the number, next page I went to the number was in the subject!



I had the earler one done, I guess it did not include the "Clutch Durability Improvement". Guess when I take it in to get the seat cover replaced I better put a lock on the OBD port! the only thing that can be a "clutch durability improvement" is to turn down the power!

So what caused the missing and hard shifts? Does it go into some kind of limp mode if one of those codes is triggered?



Then I have to wonder what happened to trigger one of those codes too? My wife has been driving it and it is very possible that she ran it harder than you should before it was warmed up



I just don't really see what triggered the CEL? I'll give the dealer a call and see if they will tell me what the code was.



EDIT; The service ticket wasn't in front of him but he seemed to recall the air inlet temp rationality as the code that set the light, that would be P0071.



Now I will just have to test the rpm limit when cold, should be interesting.

It has something to do with the air intake temp and the battery temps are do far different. My 06 did it and the TSB fixed that problem.
