I posted a thread about my 600 with no power. I took it in to the dealer and they found a ECM update that fell under the TSB. I had the TSB done in April, yes, I'm sure it was done. When I took it in on Wednesday the tech checked my software and the DC comp he found that there had been an update since my April upload. I just picked the truck up yesterday evening and on the trip home and back to work this morning the mileage seems to have increased aprox 2 mpg on the overhead. I checked the over head two days prior on the same trip and read 13. 3 and now it reads 15. 4. Driving conditions are relatively the same. I haven't towed with it yet, but I will tommorrow for about 300 miles with the same load as before service visit. I will keep you posted.

do they have to keep it over nite to verifiy "white smoke" on start up????

Marv.

I am sure it will depend on the dealer/shop... for me I just stated that I had the "flat spot" and the occasional puff of white smoke. 30 min's later I was on my way.

They just had during the day. I never complained about smoke on start-up. My overhead is now showing 16. 5 mpg compared to 13. 3 before.

Are you certain they did not do TSB 18-037-04? This is the new one that addresses these issues. Can you check and let us know? Thanks, TT

Did it fix your "no power" issue? With all due respect to all, who cares what the overhead says if it isn't accurate? Has anyone verified the mileage increase by hand calculations?

Will find out about the no power issue tommorrow when pulling again. Haven't ran a tank unloaded yet to find out milage by hand. The TSB that was included with the paper work that I signed when picking up the truck was 18-007-04. Dealer may have just used this one as before only the software has changed since the last download to truck. I have a feeling that both 037 and 007 are the same, only the complaints to find the TSB are different. A software update is a software update no matter the reason. I can't see DC only updating for a specific problem. I would assume when you have an update, you get all the changes they have made to the software to fix any bugs they have found.

This thread has plagued me! Now I am experiencing this problem as of yesterday. It almost seems like it is backfiring when acclerating from under 2k rpm and then I noticed the white smoke this morning. What causes something like this to happen all of a sudden, to me it wouldn't seem like a computer problem otherwise it would be doing it all along.
