 Does anybody know if having the plug n power in disables the cold idle engine warming. The mechanic at my dealership did the software update while I stood there with the directions in my hand that I printed off Geno's. We have had plenty of cold enough nights for this feature to work. I don't even plug it in because I know a overnight soak disables it. Anybody who has had this done I would like to hear from you. I'm looking forward for this feature to work. pete. 2001 QC with jardine and A. R. E Z and RHINO LINER.

Might have the answer..

My boss and I put the software in our trucks. We have not seen the feature work yet, so we sat down and did some analysis of what the thing should do. We determined that it cannot function as it is designed. The reason: it relies on the IAT for the air temperature input, and the IAT is soaking in pretty hot air after the intake air heater grid has cycled. Once it quits cycling, the manifold temperature has probably reached too high a degree to allow the system to work. We figured that it might take 50-60 below zero before it could possibly work. My contention is that it needs an external ambient air sensor to operate at all. Boss agrees.

Any other ideas out there?

The sensor that it gets the outside air temp from is the one under the drivers side battery. We have discussed this in the long thread about cold idle reflash. Some of us have tried replacing sensors with fixed resistors, trying to MAKE it work, as well as other testing. So far it seems like it works or it doesn't and knowone can tell why.

check the other post

Some have gotten it to work, but I think most have the extreme cold weather flash. There are 20 odd pages in the other thread concerning this flash. Ray
