I am a newbie here and would appreciate info. about any TSB on a flash for fuel economy improvement for my 2004 DR 5. 09 with the engine manufacture date of 9/30/03,the TSB #18-037-04 is for engine manufacture date of 12/10/2003 through 08/17/04 and doesn't apply to mine and I think it would be great if I can get better than 15. 04 mpg with the price of fuel climbing! :{ I have 16,250 at present on the OD

Thanks for any helpful info. ASAP Oo. I'm located at this time in the Athens Al. area on temp. assignment if that helps

These are the TSBs from Fritz's website. I didn't see one to cover your truck. One thing you should do is check the serial number of your engine against the 034 TSB you mentioned in your post. If your serial number is within the range, then the reflash will work.

Yeah, I'm interested in this TSB as well. Wondering why its not listed on this site under "TSB's" and why the TSB's on TDR aren't up to date.

Thanks Alan for the link and info. I did'nt find a flash for fuel help

I checked the serial it was 57103--- it seems this falls below the 57130285 thur 57246361 numbers in the TSB, any positive info. or advice on improvement to fuel mileage would be much appreciated

Thanks, Alton

One thing I always recommend is to make sure all of the pressure clamps from the turbo to the intake are torqued. It's 72 in/lbs if I remember correctly. Also, if you haven't done any towing with that truck, believe it or not, getting that engine out now and working it will help it. Unless that engine has been worked under load, it's not really broken in with the rings seated properly.

Finally, it's cold. That reduces mileage about 1-2 mpg depending on where you live. Especially if you are doing short duration drives and using winter blend fuel (northern regions of the US).
