I have an 04 and did the tsb to my truck,it does help. It's listed under 2003 trucks, and it is reimbursable to the dealer on 03 trucks or 04's. It's listed under the P/S Tsbs for a 2003 Ram truck. :D

Your dealer is not looking in the right place. It is currently listed in "TechConnect" and is only applicable to 03 model year.

I got a call from my buddy that works at a dealership, it's there.

It posted on 11-28-03 and here is a samll part of it.

Sympton or Condition

A vibration may be felt in the steering wheel and/or the accelerator pedal on diesel engine vehicles with the engine operating between 2000 and 2200 RPM.

I can not wait to talk to the Tech that told me

"That is normal for a diesel"

SWEET!!! My truck is in the shop for this right now. I'll call them up in the moring and shove them in the right direction!!! Thanks sag!!! U DA MAN!

Had this performed on my truck today, vibe seems to be gone or at least lessened. Haven't had a chance to do any long amounts of driving at that speed yet.

Basically the new hose has a big hunk of metal attatched to one side of it, which aslo makes it flop against a relay or something attatched to the side of the fuse box so I'm going to have to secure the hose someway.

I just got back from having mine done, and although the vibration I had was not really bad, the new hose pretty much took care of it. I am very please with the result.

I got an 04 that I picked up on 10/29 and looked for this vibration, but don't seem to have it. On lookin gat the hose, it has a chunk of metal attached as someone above noted on the new ones. Maybe that's why I don't have this problem, they fixed it at the build shop. I did have some vibration through the gearshift, but didn't make any noise. That has gone away with 4k miles or so. Good luck with yours.

The chuck of metal dampnens the vibration in the hose that is felt in the steering wheel and the throttle pedal. Apparently they incorporated the modification into the '04 models much as they did with the alternator bracket in the 03. 5's. The fix seems to have worked, and although it was not a big thing with me, it does make truck even more of a pleasure to drive:D. Sure is a funny looking hose, though:eek: , if you got caught with it under your seat, I think you could be arrested for carrying;) .

Is there a link for this TSB yet?? My dealer is giving me the run around on this. I have an 04 and my hose does not look like the one Dean posted. By the way, thanks Dean for the pic. I'm going to go back in and fight with them some more. Thanks

I will know soon. My truck goes in Monday the 29th. They have a list. :) My '03 was made in '02 so it has all of the TSB items, including the trans temp light (I have a 6 speed), the trans rattle, the singing driveshaft, the vibe at 2000 RPM... I'll let you know how it goes, I'm supposed to get it back 01/02/04

Why so long a stay at the dealers? It only takes about a half an hour to put the new hose on.

Read the list of items I have given them!

Besides, I'm leaving to go out of town that day, and not coming back until the night of the 1st, pick up morning of 2nd. :)

Thanks for the clearification.

I know this is for the 03, but I have a 97 CC 4x4 that has the same issues as described for the 2003s and had the problem for 75,000 miles. Does anybody know if the hose will work on a 97, or can someone tell me weight of the damper? The weight will give me a starting point to try and eliminate the vibration. Thanks a million.
