Tps problem

I have a 93' CTD with an automatic. I am starting to have problems with it not wanting to shift into overdrive. Tonight I open the hood to see what I can find and I notice that the cover for the Tps has fallen off!!! No wonder!! Any way to fix it with out replacing the unit? Thanks,

My question is, are the internals still in there? You say it won't shift, is that a "will not shift"? or a "sometimes it won't shift". A "will not" tells me the TPS is either full of crud or the internals are gone. A "sometimes" tells me they're still there, but need to be cleaned and covered.

It will still shift if you rev it out, and the guts are still there.
