Well, I wish I could give you a real number on how far I slid mine.

I did not measure. What I did was mark the pump where the stock location was for the plate and then slid it forward as far as it would go and marked it there. Then ended up somewhere in the center of the two marks. I know I could slide it further if I wanted.

The marks give me a reference to go back to if I ever need.

BTW, what are your EGT's reading at the top of 4th and 5th gear?

Mine went to 1400 in 4th and over 1500 in 5th. I changed my turbine housing and bumped my timing and got a little help on EGT's

We have a Ford Powerstroke in our business and my friend was racing me after the #11 plate last year. Needless to say, he got spanked! The ford was faster until this.

I now enough power to outrun anything I have come up against.

Haven't really had a chance check EGT's yet. Once I hook onto the trailer and tow the race car to the track, I'll have a good indication of what it is going to do. I know that I probably need to kill the cat. Haven't done that yet.

If you think it smokes now... wait till you tie that trailer to it.

hehehe! It will smoke like a freight train.

EGT's need to stay below 1300 degrees unless you have an unlimited bank account for cylinder heads.

I thought my cat was clogged as well. It was wide open when I pulled it off.

I would seriously watch the EGT's when towing.

What kinda car you race?

Don~

I'll definately keep an eye on the EGT's. My trailer weighs about 10k lbs with the car, tools, etc... (28' enclosed Pace American). I race a 1970 Dodge Challenger. NHRA & IHRA E. T. Bracket drag racing.

The trailer explains your 5th gear failures I guess.

Both of my 5th gear failures seem to be related to towing stuff.

Standard Trans just called said the trans and flywheel will be ready tomorrow. They said the trans looked very worn out. He named a ton of stuff that was smoked inside. 5th gear, input shaft, all bearings and syncros, to complete clusters and reverse gear stuff too.

I cant wait to get it all back in.

Driving the wifes Mercedes is no fun at all.
