With a stock transmission a #10 would be the plate of choice. It should be relatively forgiving. If you are towing even the #10 can be rough on a transmission.
To help keep the stock transmission around longer a valve body upgrade is necessary. I would give a call to www.dieseltrans.com and see what they recommend.
