I need to find out the best way to connect the MAP sensor, I have the EZ plugged in to the manifold right now and it runs smoother but I think I lost power. Is this right?

For the stack, you unplug your oem MAP sensor, plug the tst into the map sensor, piggy back the ez connector on top of this, and then finally plug the oem connector on the top of the ez.

I switched the connectors and it still runs the same, it just feels like I lost power. Do you have any suggestions for what setting run best?

If you're still just running the stock turbo, and haven't done any fuel pump upgrades, I doubt anything over 5/4 or 5/5 on the TST will gain any power... even that may be a little high. As it's been said by others before... higher settings on the TST don't necessarily mean higher power. It all depends on if you have the airflow and fuel upgrades to handle it. Start low and work your way up one level at a time until you start decreasing in power and exhaust temps shoot way up. Then back down a notch. There's a pretty good article on the Glacier Diesel site about dialing in the best settings when stacking chips.

I couldn't agree more. Even with all the upgrades I have, my best settings on my tst are either 4x4 or 5x4. The higher the #'s I go, the more smoke :-laf I get, plus I'll peg my egt's quickly (1600* ) at WOT. A killer combo, but do becareful. This combo like to break stuff, trust me. .

I'm still running the stock fuel system. I need to get my passenger side mirror fixed and I'm looking to see if a fluid dynamic ballencer fixes my vibration... anyways...

FASS or GPD pump comming soon. I know it's really needed to be consistant with this kinda tuning and power :)

Nice article. I have been thinking along these lines for a while now and adjusting

I'm running Hot Juice + EZ stack. So far I've been running the EZ on 1 mostly and switch between 1 and 2. It's difficult to see a difference yet. my LBF has dropped from 5 to 4 to 3 thus far on level 5. I might drop that to 2 for a day or so. And I might bump the EZ up to 3 as to 2 when I wanna go fast.

One things for sure, I have do notice that level 4 is slower then 5 for sure on the Edge unit. that's how it feels. And when I was at the track, level 4 did show slower numbers typicaly.

I know the edge isn't as cusomtizeable but the same therory should be applied.

One question tho. Why stacking a timeing box with a downloader that does timing?

TST/EDGE and the BDDL's for example:

BBDL on tow + TST on 2/2 = 100hp

TST on 4/4 = 100hp.

What's the point of BBDL, one things for sure the BBDL does fuel off idle, the EDGE units do not. and the BBDL does pull hard off idle. I"m assuming the TST does not pull off idle and waits for boost like the edge unit's do correct?

True, the TST does not pull hard right off idle. With the stock programming, I believe it likes to see 12 psi boost before it really starts fueling. The Twins program is supposed to offer much more aggressive low end fueling, but I've not had personal experience with that yet.

When I got my EZ, I didn't see much of performance improvement on 3. I started on tooling around on Edge 5/4 EX 2. cranked it up to 3 and that seems to generate more smoke. So that was tail-gater control mode. Man does the EZ make smoke!!!

This morning I dropped the edge juice to 5/2 EZ 3. WOW, what a difference! Just as she picks up boost things start to get moving, and move hard! Funny how that little less timing on the bottom end does help on the top end as well. So once I got on 169 north from 394 I figured i'd run her up to 108mph. Just last night on 5/4 EZ 2 I pegged 1450EGT, 40psi at about 108mpg. This morning (tho cooler out (10 degrees), + Power service in the tank this fill). She pulled harder up to 108 and EGTS just breached 1300 and the boost number read 41PSI on the attitude.

I might tool around a little with 5/1 EZ 3 see if things pick up a bit more on the bottom end. One things for sure, 4/2 EZ 3. Things are slower. the EDGE needs to be on 5 (hot juice 5) to still get the most outa the stocker tubro.

I know if I get a big single, TST twins, or BDDL will have to be had in order to have the best drivability.

For day to -day driving 4/2 (or 1, not sure) EZ 2 sounds like a plan. There was little smoke at all for moderate acceleration on this setting. EDGE recommends driving on 2 anyways. This should be sufficient.

And for lets have some fun settings, 5/2 EX 3 should do the trick.

What do other people run with EDGE/EZ with stock turbo and stock/non-stock fuel systems?

I have ran that stack before and after LP/Turbo upgrades.

With stock turbo and LP and the HOT Juice/EZ stack you will not get the full potential. You also need an analogue boost gauge to really tell what the boost is. The Attitude or any boost display that is reading from the ECM is limited to about 40psi max reading. That does not mean you are not making more boost, just don't see it on the Attitude. As long as you keep the de-fueling protection set you should be ok. The Juice is fairly moderate on how it abuses the engine even on highest settings, but I would worry about the stock turbo if running Hot Juice level 5 and EZ level anything all the time. Just my experiences and . 02.

I figured I wasn't going to break anything with the EDGE box to easily, so level 5 isn't all that big of a deal. And I'm not going spend money on gauges right now. If I'm going to run things hard, they will get run hard regardless :) I'm sure I'm boosting 45 psi on the stocker.

I need cash to do things right. :)
