As stated earlier I removed the TST #8 and installed the TST #6.

At first I did not change out the elbow. While checking for AFC and boost leaks I decided to install the elbow that came with the #6. I discovered a pin sized hole in the side of the elbow.

Does this hole keep boost down? Is it there to save the AFC diaphram?

Anyone need a TST #8,PM me.

The hole lets you build more boost as it bleeds off boost signal to the waste gate and fools it into seeing less boost than is really there. With out the elbow I got 28 boost and with it get 40lbs. It peaks and then drops back some.

I have a dumb question

I have gauges ordered, stock plate, star wheel turned up and still no smoke. Transmission is all stock, no slippage but I'm sure its living on borrowed time so I'm not ready for a tst plate yet. Anyhow, to the point. If i slide the stock plate after gauges are in should I order just the boost elbow? Will this help with egt's.

Yes it should help with egt's some and also will cut back on smoke a little by letting you have more air there to match all that fuel, or you could temporarily disable your wastegate until you get the kit.
