Anybody got any horror stories about the TST Powermax 3? I just bought one to stack with my Smarty. As soon as I installed it, I turned the remote up to 9 and it shook the truck the idle was so rough and high. I rechecked the connections, checked the voltage, etc. Pump wire was between 11 and 14 volts, where it ought to be. Likewise with the keyed on. The MAP was 4. 25, which is higher than the 1. 05 that it should be, so I called the tech line and they agreed that the MAP was the culprit. $187 later, the new MAP was installed. Fired up the truck and the same thing. It didn't idle quit as fast, but it sounds like it is hitting on maybe 3 cylinders. If I get on it, it is awesome, but when I let out it sounds like S@#*! I just removed my Edge Comp, and it worked fine. ??? If I remove the Smarty input, there is no difference. Turn off the TST and the truck runs fine. The higher the number selected on the TST remote, the worse the situation becomes. When I first turn on the TST everything is O. K. If I tap the throttle and release, it acts crazy. The highest I can run around town is 3 or maybe 4. It actually has a cool chop at these settings, but I don't think it's right. To top it all off, the TST sets codes like crazy. Every time I turn it on, I have to use the Smarty to remove codes. Mainly 0236 which I think is "MAP too high too long". I have also experienced a fueling code. I could probably live with this while pulling the sled, because it works fine under throttle, it just sucks in town, or at cruising RPM. My tubes are drilled, but the tech man said that he didn't think that should cause my problems. Tomorrow I am going to check the voltage of the new MAP, but if it is still high, I don't know what I'll do. I'm sure the dealer won't take it back.
