TST Install?'s transmission also?

Getting ready to install the 230/605 power kit. Putting pyro and boost gauges in also. Anything else recommended or hints? Timing bump? No $ yet for transmission upgrades, will a valve body kit do?does transmission have to come out for this?

I would do a governor spring kit. Pretty cheap and not too difficult to do. You will find there's alot of life over 2000 rpm that just wasn't there before. :D

make it louder

open up exhaust take muffler off and the cat. sounds so much better and your dog will know your coming home about 1/2 mile away.

I Put the same fuel plate in mine and it works great. I did have some slipping in the transmission when towing the trailer.

I had a DTT valve body installed and that took care of the slipping problem.

I have the same TST plate in my truck and have installed 2 others in friends trucks. After they drove mine they had to have it. They are both well satisfied with it. One of them has all the DTT goodys and the other one is bone stock with no guages. My truck also has the 215 injectors, K&N air filter DTT trans mods and cat removed. You will be well satisfied with the TST. Mark Chappel is a great guy to work with. Any problems with the install and you can give him a call and he will answere your questions. Good luck and enjoy the ride.

Piers Diesel

I noticed you live in Marysville and wondered if you might have considered having Piers Diesel do the TST install?

I had his shop install mine about a month ago. After the Canadian exchange it wasn't that much to have someone do the install that knew exactly how to adjust it so that you have minimal smoke and yet still have the power you are looking for.

And the good news is that Piers himself will drive your rig and if he did like me, he even gave me about a half dozen tips and things to look for and consider. He knows so much about the Cummins it's hard for me to catch everything he said. But I felt the money was well spent. We took our trailer up, spent the weekend up in Canada and had a good time.

I can't say enough good things about Piers and his crew. I spent very little money there and yet they treated me better than the dealer did when I spent nearly $30K for the truck! Very nice folks, excellent technical, good installation.

Oh, I almost forgot. If you call up there, they might have their RVs spots ready to take customers - if not maybe you can talk Piers into letting you dry camp on his property.

Anyway, something to consider if you haven't already.
