I installed the tst box the other night and where the wire comes from the engine into the cab is making my door rattle  has anyone had this problem can i reroute the wire for the controller somewhere else say thru the firewall? i had no rattles at all in my truck now i am like :-{} if i cant get the rattle out i am taking the tst box off ... yea i know but i hate rattles!

My truck had a large (~1-1. 5") rubber grommet in the firewall near the brake or clutch pedal on the firewall, which is where I ran my wire through. I cut a slit in the rubber grommet, placed the wire through it and reinstalled. It seemed to still seal up, although you could use some of that liquid electrical tape or something to make sure it seals.

Right up behind and to the left of the brake/clutch pedal there is a factory rubber grommet I think it is for the emergency brake (not sure and don't really care). With just one wire you should be able to "fish" it through as is. I have a bundle about as big around as my wrist going through there so I had to open her up with a razor knife. :D With as good as TST seems to be I have NO IDEA why they recommend the door method.

P. S use some pretty stiff wire as a "fish tape" , go in from the engine side and "pull" your control wire through the grommet, carefully. Two people helps but not required.

I did the same thing as RMalone. Then put the remote in the ashtray. Makes for a nice, clean and hidden install with no door rattle.

going thru the firewall in the am... . cool thanks i dont know why they dont say this in the 1st place. . all the other chips i have installed go thru the firewall. thanks

for those wondering the tst box is wicked nothing short. i like the way one guy descrided it " anything above 4/4 with ez on 1 things happen almost to quickly to comprehend" yea like my clutch slipping it rear off. :)

have had mine routed as instructions say for 70k and no rattle in mine. ther is a foam piece in the fender where the door meets it, and that should hold the wire in place and keep it from bouncing around.
