Got the kit in the mail. Read the instructions last night - The steel tool that comes with the kit (to set the depth of the seal as it's driven in) the instructions never say to remove it - is this a no brainer and it should be removed? I'm certain when I removed the stock seal (weekend before last) there wasn't anything between the seal and the balancer.

Also, the instructions state WTE "be certain to install the rubber dust ring included in the kit between the seal and the balancer". There's no rubber ring in the kit.

Hence my questions = there were a few grammatical and spelling errors in the instructions and I'm wondering if when "rubber" was mentioned they meant to type "steel" instead?

Appreciate replies.

The instlation tool does not stay remove it and don't worry about the rubber dust seal they were put into the kit for non auto applications

Thanks Jim. I was pretty sure the tool didn't stay, instructions never mentioned removing it - that's what I get for reading the instructions and not just following the pictures  Plus, "I've never left a tool inside an engine before . . . well at least not on purpose" :-laf

Now that my back is back on-line maybe I can get my truck back on-line as well.

Thanks for confirming. Have a safe 3 day weekend. ;)
