Installed Fuel Pressure Gauge In My 2005

Does anyone know why when I first installed my TST in my 03 about 4 mos. ago it purrred like a kitten for about 3 mos and and now when I run power levels 1 or higher it is noisy and rough sounding and it intermittently misses every now and then?

I could really use some advise, please

First impression would be a loose or shorting connection. Did you apply a dab of dielectric grease to each plug? If no; start by applying to the connections at the bottom half -- flywheel sensor plug and cam position sensor plug. Those are the most susceptible to contamination.

Check your connections. You might have a bent contact pin somewhere, or something came loose. What other mods/bombs have you done to the truck? Do you have the SO or HO, auto or manual trans and so on. Give us a sig with your trucks particulars, that would help a great deal. Also give TST a call.

Mike

Mine missed once. I called TST to find out why. They looked up my serial number and said I had the old program. Sent the programmer back via overnight. They reprogrammed it with the new program and overnighted it back. I was down less then 48 hours. Didn't cost me a cent. Except for the over night shipping which I had my company pay for. Runs better now. I can use the hight settings.

Big MAK-

1) Is the dielectric grease applied to the electric contacts/pins or just to the plastic housing part of the plugs to create a seal?

2) How secure are the fuse tap connections? Do they work loose if driving on lots of dirt/rough roads?

I have TST coming in the next week, and only want to install it once.

-Thanks-

TST missing

My TST has been doing the same thing for a while. I thought it was normal, The miss, because it threw a engine light. I hooked my scanner up to it and it said it was a timming code. Well I thought it was normal because that is what the TST does it advances timming. I am also getting a backfire or something on 5/5. It happens after a quick hard excelleration. It just does it once. So I think I have an old program also. It was one of the firt ones to come out so I think I will give TST a call.

driverno8, what serial number is you box. I'm experiencing some of the same symptoms and am wondering if I need to have it reprogrammed. Mine is s/n 1217.

Go Dale!

mine started missing two months ago always at 1200rpm and has been doing it regularly. Also the power number will flash when the humidity is high or it is raining. My serial is 1300's

I just talked to TST today. They didn't seem to think my symptoms are associated with the box but they are willing to reprogram it all I have to do is send it in. I didn't specifically ask about more or less power (since I've never maxed out the box anyway) but the impression I got was the latest software has slightly more power that comes on smoother (more on the bottome end).

FDavid, that's good.

TST has a "Twins" program and a more refined smoother program.

Twins-those that feel the need to run 2 turbos. Much more aggressive fueling at the lower power settings.

But, I have herd that the newer version is a derated version, less HP and tq. So what do I do. ?????????

if it is... then I am still happy - I got 20hp per click- just what I should

Mark said they left 9/9 the same power, but smoothed the others for drivability
