I have heard that TST will exchange fuel plates, is this true? I have a #11 now and would like to go to a #4. Do you just call them up and say you want to swap plates?

I don't know about the swap, but if the truck you putting it on is the one in your sig, the #4 is NOT recommended for that motor. The max recommended plate is #10 on a 97 5 speed truck
I think they have a time limit on exchanges. In the fall of 96 when I bought my truck I paid a full $300 for the TST #8 plate. A couple of years later I thought I wanted to try something else, & contacted them. They had dropped the price, but I had to purchase a different plate instead of exchange. I kept the one I have.
Yes I did get the GSK figured out, thanks. I went up one click from stock and the truck runs great. I know that the #10 plate is the hottest plate TST recomends for the manual transmission, but I have read many posts on how the #4 is an animal in these trucks. I would really like to try the #0 plate
I know that a #10 plate is overkill for my power needs, as the heaviest thing I tow is a 4 place snowmobile trailer with 4 sleds and gear. I cannot even tell there is a trailer behind me with my current setup, no matter how big the hill. The only reason I am thinking of getting the #4 or #0 is that I know after a little while I will get bored with the lowly #10 and want to add more fuel, so why not just bite the bullet and go all out to begin with? Whatever I end up doing I will have to look at the HX-40. I am running close to max EGT's while towing in the mountains now, so any more fuel or the chance to pull a real load will have me in big time EGT trouble.
When is the next get together at Mike's? I really want to attend the next event. Are you going to Muncie by chance?
