Can I put a 7100 pump on a 24valve motor?

Question for bypass oil filter users

I been reading and searching alot and everybody has there pick, but I have gauges and Scotty II so far on stock truck and wonder which one you recommend as far as flexibility in the future and performance. I like the feature of leaving the pump wire off for a while but I have been wanting to try the Powermax just haven't heard much about it. Yes I know I am my own warranty station once I bomb but maybe with the pump wire unpierced a guy could get by on some warranty work not that I'll need it. THanks Jake

Both of these boxes are nice, and have loyal followings.

You have listed a benefit of the Edge Comp by not having to hook up the pump wire and using it as an EZ.

With the Edge Comp you have 5 fueling levels and 5 sub levels to control at which point of boost your overfueling begins.

With the TST Power Max, you have 10 levels of adjustable fuel delivery.

Both boxes deliver about 120hp and 300+ft lbs.

The Edge Comp also manipulates fuel delivery timing via ECM and FPCM, which will give you smoke if desired and get you going a little quicker on the bottom end (IMO).

Either box is a good choice, if you want a Power Max and timing I advise purchasing an Edge EZ to stack with your Power Max.

PM3

I used to have a PM3 adjustable on my 00 5spd and it worked very well. It made good power with surprisingly little smoke. If you decide on a PM3, spend the extra money and get the adjustable remote so you can adjust the power for your needs. If you want to up the ante, step up to competition version and really wake your truck up. I would highly suggest a fuel pressure gauge before installing either the PE comp or a PM3. These boxes will trash your injector pump in a heartbeat if the FP is not up to snuff. I have never used a PE Comp so I cant give you an honest opinion on that box. I'm sure someone will chime in and give thier thoughts.

I have a bias view as I am running a P-Max 3. You get a true 110-120 rwhp with the standard PM3. With the Comp version you will get another 40 hp. This is about max fuel delivery for the vp44 with the standard injectors. The timing boxes won't give you any more top end HP just more mid range torque. Both systems have good points. I got the full display and its highly accurate.

Thanks as soon as I can scrap up the cash I'll buy a PM3, now I need to talk to Rod about a Powermax and exhaust package:D :D thanks to all the help. Jake

I woudl buy the Edge Comp, you get more low end especially and infinite tuning of smoke and repsonse you do not get this with the TST box,you do not get a MPG increase with the TST box either. In order for the TST pm to be competitive with a the Edge comp box, you need to spend another 4-500 on a either an edge EZ or a VA. Just thought you should know this before you lay down money for 2 fueling boxes. Dont get me wrong the TST box kicks, but you get much more for your buck from Edge,IMO. I got the edge drag comp, wich adds between 125-135HP,some guys have seen a 150hp gain with it. Also the low speed fuelign adjustments on the comp box are very nice, you can tuen out low end smoke with big injectors and get a good compromise between smoke and power in a lower level, then set level 5 for KILL with max fueling and max low speed fuel.
