Evening all-
I know this question has been asked numerous times... but dam. I have been surfing around looking at all these specs on all these darned "black boxes"... the more I read the more confused I get.
This is what I know:
VA CPC= mild fueling and timing, correct?
PE EZ= mild fueling, timing and boost module, correct?
PE= adj. major or minor fueling and boost module correct?
I just checked out the 10 level Powermax on the TST site... how does this operate and who uses and or likes them?
Who uses the Blue Box? and what exactly does it do?
I am asking all these questions because I wanna get a "black box" but I don't wanna get one that i'll end up taking out and trading up to something with more juice. I really dig the idea behind the 10 level Powermax. I don't do any "major" towing, occasional light loads around 4000lbs and bed loading(gravel wood etc), a loafer of a truck that ain't no slouch.
I know i'll need gauges, and that is my first priority but I do want a box and would like to do as much research and survey as possible before I commit. The truck is a 2001. 5 HO 6spd. ST standard cab 3. 54 LSD as plain jane as they come 'cept for all those darn lights everywhere.

I can't advise on the Va box as I never tried one. I will say that the EZ is hard to beat on the ETH. The major fueling boxs will challenge your clutch and make it necessary to replace same in short order if you drive 'em hard. I'm starting to feel like a EZ spokesman, but it really is great(the box, that is #ad
).

Sounds like you want some power with out having to trade up later? Just jump into one of the major fueling boxes (PE,TST,Bluechip),you won't be sorry. The boxes have some different looks and features about them, but when cranked up,they pretty much do the same thing. They also install the same way.

I borrowed a Blue Box to dyno my truck last fall, and I loved it! It's a simple easy to use box. I now have a TST 10-level and love it too! It operates just like the other boxes, but you can "fine tune" the overfuelling percentage you want with the remote. I've only seen the PE,but it hooks up and functions the same as the others. I honestly think either one of these is great choice you'd be happy with.

I have just installed the True Torque Power Module from Diesel Dynamics, ran it 2 days with just it and a 4" exhaust system was very impressed, then installed DDIII injectors and am extremely happy. If you are planning on doing injector upgrades the TTPM is programmed to work with their injectors.
