I installed the TST powermaxcr with monitor last night and finished the test drive about 1 a. m. . Wow what a difference with power level on 3 and torque level on 1 :D . Took the family for test run this morning and they were very happy with the results :D . Now to those of you that have been running the TST for a while, what settings have been used to get better fuel efficiency.

We have `05 SWB Quad 4x4 48re.

Thanks for your replys.

just like and power adder if you use the power mileage will drop. I run mine on 5/5 all the time and I get 16-17 around town (6-7miles each way to work and lots of short trips). it gets 20mpg if I drive between 45-60 on longer trips, but it drops to around 15 running interstate speeds.

I set mine on 4x4 most of the time, and it gives me about 2-3 over stock. My last 9 tanks haven't been under 20 for mixed driving, and I get 23 or better on highway, running 70-75. These are hand calculated numbers. My overhead shows about 18-19, when I am actually getting 20s. I tried it on 1 or 2 and don't see as much gain. Check sig for truck specs.

from Jengle's recommendation, I have been running 4-4 for a while and like it. :DFuel mileage was up in the 21-22 MPG range for a while. Recently I have seen a sharp drop down to about 17-18, but then again I have been playing pretty hard lately. :D

1x1 is the setup for milage.

if you seem to think so. :D however I have been running my box for 17-18 months, on two different trucks and have tried most every setting including stacking it with a pressure box. Finally I went with Jengles suggestion on 4-4 and seem to get the best results on that.

I have the same set up as you and am getting 18 ave. I do some towing and run 4,4 unloaded and 4,2 light load (2,4 heavier loads) -

I couldn't tell from your sig if you had an automatic...

oh and i need to update my sig... :)

I was under the impression that once you go over 1x1 you are adding fuel that the overhead does not know about. I would think that if your running at 5x5 you HAVE to be burning more fuel to get the extra power then you would be on 1x1. I could be wrong, but thats what I have always thought?

well, it all depends on how much you have your foot in it. :D if you are running the interstate and not driving aggresive, then most of the levels up to 5-5 will be OK. when you start getting up around 6-6 and 7-7 the the box ramps up the fuel rates really fast and you will lose mileage

If I'm on a long trip and not towing I'll run it as high as 7/4 or 6/3. From my experience lower tq and higher hp number work best. I've even done 5/1 for long hauls. Not much difference in mpg between any of them. I'm still under 19 hand calculated. All this with an EZ on 1.

what about stacked with the EZ? i run 1/1 and the EZ on 1 - this combination seemed to make the most sense to me. i noticed around town i get better mileage w/ the tst/ez stack, but on the freeway it seems to be less than the EZ alone. any insight?

Jengles, Imills, and DBoggs. The fuel mileage that you are seeing is that mainly on a mix that is majority highway? The truck is my wife's daily driver and for now it is 70% to 80% town driving. For this tank I set the TST for 3/3 and when I checked the computer for ave fuel mileage it was less than before the chip. I am wondering if it is better to run at lower numbers while doing more of in town driving and then crank it up for more highway driving. What are thoughts or opinions on this?

Thanks in advance.

Rworth, I tend to agree with that, but lately, I have been running a lot of evenly mixed driving and leave it on 4x4, and that seems to be the best all around. I did notice on long trips that I run 75+ for long times, it seems to be better at higher settings. I used to run 3x3 on general driving with 4x4 on the highway, but have seen the averages come up on 4x4 for everything. My numbers are hand calculated for my fuel slips, since I know the OH is off with the box. I have run 5x5 lately, and haven't noticed any drop in economy, if I can keep my right foot out of it.

BTW, my overhead has always been off. I just use it as a trend gauge to see if the settings make a difference. It shows the high 18s to low 19s, when I am actually getting in the 20s. And I don't use the cruise control on the highway trips. I can regulate it better with my foot.

My best results back and forth to work are 0/0. the last 12,000 miles have averaged 20. 2. I can get 1/0 to add a slight gain in mpg when only highway speeds or pulling a load. I could average 21. 5 with a stock truck at 73 mph all day long. Ohonestly don't expect any gains other than power and noise.
