I bought a TST 2 years ago and took off my EDGE Juice/EZ stack that worked flawlessly to install it. I really wanted the power but had nothing but trouble with many different codes. I talked to Mark quite a few times and a tech of his also trying to get it to work with no luck. I even took my truck to TST and Mark had his guys work on it for 4 hours with no luck. They moved the ground wire a few times which I too had done, tried a new wire harness, etc. so anyway they offered to refund my money. They said it could have been the remote start causing the problem. I took it home and completely removed the remote start and tried it again, no luck, the codes were back and no Air cond. I then re-installed my EDGE stack and it has worked flawlessly for the last 2 years. I did send the TST back for a refund.

I see now they offer the r-49 that has a few different programs and adjustable timing etc. I am curious to try it again and hope it works. Does anyone have a 03 like mine with or without the S. O. engine and have any luck with the TST? I plan to get a Smarty also.

or should I just get the Smarty?

I run the TST stacked with the Smarty and it runs fine. I am still playing with the programs to dial them in and it will throw some codes occasionally, but I just cancel them out with the Smarty. None of the codes effect drivability.

BTW, the new programs are an econo, 2 different twins settngs and the performance one that was on your old unit. Not sure if they will help you.

The Smarty is a nice set up. I'd probably just get it.

I have an older TST that I use with the Smarty, the downside is I have to watch EGT's very closely.

The TST runs real hot.

I have an 03 S. O. as shown in my sig. and I have an early TST r37 that I recently had reflashed cause I wanted the choice of muliple programs and my a/c was not working which Mark @ TST said he has seen a few trucks do after adding an aftermarket fuel pump, but once I moved the TST boxes ground wire to one of the dash supports under dash it has been flawless since. I am also now trying a TST / Smarty stack and I do like the smoothness in acceleration due to the reduced torque mgt from the Smarty but I cant go past level 2 or 3 or it smokes like a frt train (but I am hoping for some better reduced smoke programs from Smarty in the future) I have to say my favorite stack for towing with a bigger turbo was the TST/EZ combo and as for CODES the only time I seem to throw codes is when I build over 25-26 lbs turbo boost before the motor is at operating temperature.

I also have the older R37 that has been reflashed with the new programs. Other than crankshaft position sensor code occasionally, no problems.

Did Mark try a different module, or just the wire harness? If he tried a different TST box and it also acted up, I do not believe I would go down that road again.

I just loaded the TNT program into my Smarty for the first time today, I will have to drive it some more before I can make a decision, but the TST and the EZ may be for sale.
