Just got my truck back from getting new clutch and while it was in shop I sent in the TST for a reflash to get rid of backfire/exhaust pop? I got my TST when they first came out and the original program was RADICAL :D Which I believe is what they now call the TWINS program then I had a deceleration pop and sent box in for Reflash and box came back with a very subtle program in comparison to orig and I was a little disappointed at first cause it took going to 8-8 on new program to feel like 5-5 on orig.

Well now I just got my reflashed box back again and it has another program in it now, that feels like something in the middle of my original program and the first reflashed mild program, WAY more power now and still smooth but not hard like orig program. Oo.

I've got one of the original TST's and have never had the backfire problem you speak of. When does the truck exhibit this? I sure don't want the box updated ~ it cost me a clutch but I'd hate to loose all that power.

On the orig. program when I would accelerate then let of pedal and almost exactly 1 second later I would here a ping/misfire sound, like what a gas motor does when it has bad gas or timing off but it would only be 1 ping sometimes louder than other times

Oh youre talking about turbo-bark! I've had to teach myself to be real gentle when backing off the throttle - I'd hate to break a shaft.

NO not turbo bark I only got turbo bark if I was hard on throttle and let off pedal too quik and there is no mistaking turbo bark, do you know when you lug you diesel or run bad gas in a gasser or timing is of on gasser and it sounds like a pinging bell under hood THAT is the sound the TST would make on decelleration but it would only ping 1 time and it would do it almost exactly 1 second after taking foot off pedal EXAMPLE when getting on on ramp or leaving stop sign once up to speed if I let of pedal completely I could count one thousand and one and then it would ping 1 time and did not want it to eventually damage piston
