Bob, you are absolutely right about me witnessing Smarty at the Dyno event, and I have never stated that the Smarty was causing the problem or that it was not performing as designed by itself, in fact, I believe I have posted the Smarty was severely powerful all by itself.

I sincerely appreciate you offering me a refund until the additional programming is available. I am not asking for that... I was hoping that You or Marco or someone else may have an answer of why they are not working on My truck.

It is a different sound than the popping I was experiencing when I was running my rail dry. Now it is just a stumble, sort of like my oil burner when it has air entrained in it. Like I have stated in the past, Smarty on #9 by itself, truck runs fine, TST 9/9 by itself is also fine. But the minute I combine the two in any combination, the truck stutters.

My Smarty version is: V 3. 01A D 1. 01A, is this the correct or latest program?

Bob, I will call you later today.

that sounds exacly like what i was heareing yesterday with the PPE

Diesel Power, is the PPE the same as the EZ? Just a different label?

Maybe I will unhook the EZ, completely remove it from the mix and see what happens.

A friends truck did this and it was his alarm. Seems a diode was screwing everything up.

Also... Are you running out of fuel pressure. . Not rail pressure.

This is the version shown on the Mads web site available for download:

Smarty S-04A Ver. 3. 03B, Data: 1. 01B

The S-04A Ver. 3. 03B, Data: 1. 01B is the version that I have on my Smarty.

JVolpe, Thank You for that info, I have not checked Mads website. That is interesting that we have different versions since I have only had mine for about a month!

I plan on speaking with Bob Wagner later today or tomorrow, will ask him then what he thinks and which is the latest version. My way of thinking "B" comes after "A" so I may have an earlier version??? Also my truck is 2003 your 2004. 5 and this might be the reason for different version?

OK, today I disconnected the EZ from my truck, set TST to 0/0 and downloaded sw#8 from Smarty. Went for a ride to warm my truck up and it did not misbehave in any manner, did a few WOT runs all OK.

I turned my TST to 1/1 and my truck stumbled again, also tried several other settings with the same result, so removing the EZ had no impact.

I pulled over and downloaded sw#9 and with the TST 0/0, I drove home. Spanked my Toyo's very hard on take off a couple of times, but as soon as I added TST, truck did not like it.

I spoke with Mark @ TST today for the purpose of having my box reflashed from the standard program to their new "all in one". After telling him my experiences with the two(smarty/tst), he told me he had heard of similar problems but only with the SO trucks.

At this point I am all but convinced that my stock CP3 is just not capable of keeping up with demand. I will in the future find someone with a rail pressure gauge or purchase one myself to confirm my suspicions. I would like to THANK everyone who replied to my question, I appreciate your help/input :) . Jess

could it be !!! my truck has 10446 miles on it. 2003, maybe I should drive it more? FOR SALE $30,000. 00
