I just installed the used TST PM3 i got last night. Just wondering what everyone has found for the best levels on the smarty and tst? Right now i have the smarty on level 9 and the tst turned on 4. Thanks Cole.

My opinions:

I usually run SW5 and TST5, but I have ran SW9 TST5. I prefer more throttle movement of SW5 than the hard off bottom response of SW9. You can get to the same power, it just takes a bit more oomphf on the go pedal.

TST5 seems better for daily driving with SW5 because I can control how hard the torque comes on. With SW9 the boost climbs so fast that the TST seemed more like an on / off switch. I was constantly hearing my drive train groan. Dropping to SW7 then SW5 I found it much more controllable.

At first I had no luck running the TST above level 5. By the SOP dyno the engine made allot more noise, but seemed to make no more power. After I did my fuel supply mod's the SOP says that levels 6-9 make power now and the engine no longer makes that " older Honda 4 stroke dirt bike more sound no power noise". At those times I was pulling my fuel supply pressure down to below 3 psi from 16 psi at idle.

To add some confusion, in the middle of all this I added slightly bigger injectors (65Hp) so that might have changed everything. :rolleyes:

Good Luck;

Jim

I don't know how they compare, (TST to Edge comp) But I run the smarty on #9 and the comp on 3X3 if I want moderate acceleration without smoke. If I run with the comp off I get a harsh defuel on shifts and turbo bark on 3rd and OD. It has been mentioned on this forum that this happens with bigger injectors. And that is my situation. I had the injectors before the other two so?????? For easy town driving I leave the comp off. Hope this helps.

I run my smarty on sw7 and leave the pm3 on level 6. Works great all around driving, and easy to control the power. I don't have to look at the pyro unless I'm really beating on it and by then I need to be slowing down anyway :-laf . This combo is very smooth, I really like it. Nick.

double timing

Rebel Ram, If you're running the Smarty on #9, you are adding timing. If you run the Comp, you are adding timing. Too much timing is a bad thing. The Smarty was specifically designed with non-timing programs (even numbered programs) to run with timing adders like the Edge Comp. If you're going to run the Comp, on any level, I would recommend that you run the Smarty on even numbered programs only. #8 is the full CaTCHER program without timing. Check Marco's websight to be sure.
