I am currently running a TST, Edge EZ stack on my 06. This is the same stack I had on my 05. I really like this combo but I've heard alot about the Smarty. Does it stack well with the TST and what are the advantages over the Edge; power wise? I like being able to just flip a switch up and down on the EZ to adjust power rather than waiting for a download. That's one of the main reasons I chose the TST also. I like having the power right away if I want. Also my TST is a early 04. 5 model serial number in the 2000's. It looks like there are some new things on the TST now. Would I gain anything by getting a new TST and which one early twins or late twins? Any input on the best way to go would be great. Thanks

The TST/EZ is a great stack, it is the stack RCCOX used to make 1130+hp. The Smarty/TST/EZ is used by quite a few people that like the best of everything. The Smarty adds a very fun, and drivable bottom end, with the TST taking the power up top, and the EZ adding a little presure along the way. The new TST with presure has got a whole world of adjustment, but some say its too much. Being able to adjust rail presure, timing, and duration, then having different programs to go with it, can take a while to find which one works best for you.

From reading various posts here and looking at dyno charts, I'm not sure Smarty adds a vast amount of power over and above what you get with the TST/EZ stack. However, it does seem to smooth out the power some, and definately give more low end grunt with the wild torque management.

Of course once you start triple stacking, there are a lot of variables introduced, and each truck seems to respond slightly differently. I ran the Smarty/TST/EZ stack for a while, and but have now swapped the EZ for a TS MP-8. I can't share personal dyno graphs yet, as I'm still saving for a DD clutch.

The Smarty does add power very smoothly, and offers other benefits too (code reader, can change tire size, etc. ) --Eric

The new TST has all 4 programs, Economy, Standard, 03 Twins, 05 Twins.

I have found the Standard program to work best with the Smarty, at least for me. The Twins (both) fuel too hard early, as does the Smarty, drains the rail far too soon and you have nothing left up top. Also, it was too easy to bark the turbo, even with moderate throttle.

I am running the Smarty Moderate tq on sw#3,4,5, EZ on 2, that takes care of the low end. Then with the TST, using only the hp settings, anywhere from 1 to 6 the top end is handled. I never drain my rail, and egt's stay pretty much in check, if not I simlpy turn down the power setting on the TST.

I am not able to use tq settings on the TST with any of the settings on the Smarty. My truck just does not like it, misses, pops, bursts, whatever you want to call it.

With the stack I am using it is very drivable, smooth power, shifts excellent, and if needed, or I just want to, it flat out hauls!

Hope that answers some of your concerns. Jess

By the way, I just sent in my old standard TST and Mark built the new programs into it for $100. 00
