I have a TST now & I have found a deal on a EZ. Is this a worthwhile stack?

The guy tring to sell the EZ is telin me that it will lower my EGT, I find that hard to believe.

What settings should I run the TST on for daliy driving & for towing?

I know that I am just asking for trouble with the auto trans but hay when it gives out I will up grade it. I also do plan to install a pusher pump real soon.

Bud, words cant describe how I feel about that stack... I have always felt stacking was just wrong. But I did this stack last week and all I can say is my truck is fricken AWSOME now! If you dont already have a bigger turbo I would highly recomnmend getting a super b special or SPS 62 so you can REALLY enjoy it. And if you are running a stick you better get ready for a new clutch but still I cant believe how much smoother the power is with the new turbo and the EZ stack on my TST

Edit : I just noticed you are running an Automatic, ITS NOT GONNA LAST LONG maybe a few days depending on driving habits... plus get a bigger turbo first. You will wonder why you did not do it sooner

Ditto, I need a bigger turbo now. I run my ez on 2, tst torque on 2 and power on 0-4 depending on mood, oh and smarty on 90 hp without timing. Can't keep the tires from spinning! Oo.

I am running EZ on 2 and TST on 7-3 OM#G :D :D :D

I found that adding the EZ to the TST not only gave a little power boost, but helped the driveability as well. With the TST alone, the truck was a little touchy to drive, and throttle position was noticeably non-linear. Adding the EZ smoothed the turbo spooling, eliminated much of the "barking" with the SPS 66 turbo, and made the truck much more fun to drive. I'd definately recommend. --Eric

I have ran the same stack for about a year on a stock transmission. I ran EZ/1, TST/3/3. It ran great. I didn't have any problems untill I started turning it up. Now I have a Goerend transmission and don't worry about it.

That's the same stack I was running for a few years, right up to the point that I was sitting along I-75 south of Chattanooga with what turned out to be 4 cracked pistons, a dropped valve seat, & a bent valve... But I liked it while it lasted (97K). Just be careful.

Out of curiousity, what settings were you running? What EGT's? Thanks! Eric

The EZ even wakes up the Hot Juice. I have documented 40hp gain with the EZ as well.

This morning I deiced on a little 100+mph run to stretch the trucks legs a little. 7 degrees out, Cold winter front opened up, 5/4/ez3. from a 5th gear 2500rpm though 6th I saw 1350 on the EGTs at 105mph and a nice trail of smoke be hind me. :) I keep forgetting to check the Rail pressure guage right at that point as well, so until nextime dunno what the rail was at.

running gooooood.

Just make sure you connect the TST up first, then the EZ on top of the TST! The TST has to see the correct readings in order to work properly.

My EGT's go up with each progressive step on the EZ, I leave it on 2 and they are manageable.

Like most have stated the EZ has helped smooth out power and low end on all of my stacks with Juice, Hot Juice and TST boxes.

For the most part I ran the PMCR on 4/4 or 5/3, with the EZ on 3. EGT's were always an issue at these levels. Towing I would cut the PMCR back to 3/2 & leave the Edge alone at 3. The EGT was always on 1350*, bobtailing or towing. Stock turbo making about 42 psi, not very efficent... lots of hot air going into the engine. My lesson learned is next time I jeapordize a warranty on anything, I'll spend a little more up front so I don't have the big bill in the end. By that I mean I really think a little more efficent turbo would have been like buying insurance, but I may be wrong. One thing I know for sure, I never want to build another one of these. Maybe a 8. 3 though... ... ... ...

If you leave the EZ on level 1, It should help keep the EGT's a little lower. You really don't need the pressure that high when towing with the TST on. Also it has been said and I think proven that the higher pressure from the higher settings on the EZ has led to damaged injectors.

You just need to pay attention to how your truck is handling the power you are giving it. If it is running too hot at the settings your on, back it down a little. Better to get there a little later than not to get there at all.

Thanks for all the good input guys. I think I will pick up the EZ on Monday.

How many levels is ther to the EZ & how much trouble is it to change them?

So I want to plug the TST in to the sensors then plug in the EZ to the TST harness. Is this coerect?

Correct. You want the TST box to get the real data.

[Map Sensor] <--> TST <--> EZ <--> [Factory plug]

I'm assuming your TST is old enough to "NOT" have the rail pressure, other wise this would be a pointless thread

[Rail Sensor] <--> EZ <--> [Factory plug]

As far as settings. You'll spend more time mounting the little switch for hte EZ then you will mounting hte box and plugging it in under the hood.

Changing hte settings is just a flip of a little 3 position switch. I mounted min right side of the steerting wheel on the plastic that covers the top of the guage cluster and around both sides of the wheel.

Dispite was some may say "put it on 3 and tuck the cord in under the hood some place". don't. If you get a rail pressure gauge you'll find that at 70-75mph you'll perty much bet maxing out out the rail all the time on 3. I like to run on 1 and switch up to 3 when it's time to play around.
