To all TST users how and where did you mount your remote? I've read the instructions on how tst wants you to do it but I don't really feel confortable running it out the door. If y'all have pics that would be very helpful too.

Thanks Guys and Gals!!!

Mines mounted in the ashtray - It fits perfectly. The cable can be passed through a big grommet down by where your left foot is (in firewall).

Sorry I don't have any pics, Ill try to take some.

Scotty

Mines in pretty much the same spot but I kept the ash tray housing so once it's closed, you cannot see the TST. I can easily remove the TST and put the little ash receptacle back in and nobody will know the diff.

Mounted mine in the same general location as the Attitude A-Pillar mount was. I used a Pro-Fit Int. Ultmi-mount universal swivel mount. Works great, I have used the mount for other larger items, GPS, etc.

That sounds like a good spot Praire dog. IT would make some use of the ashtray!!

Jvolpe where did you get that mount kit from?

I have an '01 , and I mounted mine under the dash with some heavy adhesive tape to a flat metal piece just even with the steering column. The tape didn't hold to well so now it's cradeled in the same area in a big wiring harness and it sit's in it pretty tight. I cut a hole in the back corner of the ash tray and ran the remote into there. If I want to turn the box off (I don't know why I would do such a thing! :-laf )- I can reach under the dash while I'm driving and easily reach the switch. I like to keep thing's hidden so this worked really well for me! I can also close the ash tray too! :)

I like that kit too Jtryles, It looks sweet and it looks like it fits well. Is it real close to the steering wheel?

Btw thanks for all the quick responses!! :)

I put mine overtop of the cigarett lighter. I dont smoke so it isnt neccesary. Just run the wire through the steering colum. It an easy reach to change the settings.

It can be VERY close, depending on how you "bend" the ball joints. I configured mine so that it was as far away from the steering wheel and tucked in as close to the pillar as possible.

For more info on the PILLAR PIN see this thread...

As for running the cable out the door like TST says to do, I wasn't real thrilled about doing that either. After investigating the possibility of running it through the firewall I deceided to just run it out the door! I was in a hurry I guess to get it hooked up so I could go play!!! :-laf

I put mine atop the cigarette lighter as well. Fairly easy to access there, although some of the other methods do seem tempting. I used the big rubber grommet through the firewall to pass the wire for it through, since through the door seemed sort of hokey.

I installed mine in the 06 this way.

I couldn't figure out how to post it into the thread.

The ash trey seems to be a very popular place for most people. I'm gonna be using my remote as my gauges as well. I would like to have it as up as possible so I think that the best way would be getting a mounting kit and mounting the gauge on the A piller. However once I get the pyro hole drilled I will more that likely just stick the gauge in the ashtray just so I can go out and play with it asap!! :-laf

Thanks for all the help folks!!

Not to copy Jvolpe but I bought that same kit and I mounted it in pretty much the same spot. Its a pretty good fit! I ran the wire in the corner of the dash. I removed the grab handle and the dash cover to fit the wire through. I already had a hole through the rubber grommet from when I installed the ez.

I'll post some pics when I get home, I am at work now so I can't do it right now!!
