Tubo Lag & 48re Question

I staight piped mine last week and i noticed the turbo lag got better..... EGTs also 50-70 deg cooler across the board and the top EGT pulling my 10k 5th is about 90 deg cooler



But im still waiting on the AFE i ordered. Cant wait to see what a diff that will make.



Does the TAG really make that much of a diff. It seems to me if it was so great the DC would be useing this. Does any one have dyno numbers or other data to back up the claims of the TAG?

I had the turbo lag really bad.



I installed the AFE intake and torque tube and it woke it up pretty good.

I have an AFE & TAG. But what really eliminated the Turbo Lag was the Straight Pipe. Too BAD it is so FREAKIN LOUD

has anyone tried changing the turbo fan. i don't know maybe that would help with the turbo lag. feed back please!

Where can I buy the AFE and what exactly comes with it? And what is atorque tube?

The torque tube eliminates the factory plumbing between the air box and the turbo... ... ... more noise and an extra 200cfm improvement over the stock set-up.

The Piersified turbo on the 03's made a nice diferance even on a stock truck,I would guess it would help on the 325's also.

I have one on my pickup, although mine is a manual 2wd, I would imagine that it would wake yours up in a very similar fashion, they were just released this past week. Make sure you get an EGT gauge before you go stomping around for peace of mind.

Dave there is a TSB for reflashing the ECM TSB 18-07-04 if your engine number is between 57130285 through 57149668 built from 12-10-03 to 2-2-04 for a flat spot/stumle/misfire on acceleration from 1500-2500 rpm.

changing the air inlet only won't make any difference, and replacing the stock muffler only wont make much.

But, both together will make a BIG difference even without any other mods.

As for the TAG. I am not convinced that it does anything at all.

Bigger exhaust produces more low end lag, unless you add fuel!

Maybe with a gas motor with a carb, but that is not true for a diesel with a turbo and electronic injection. We've done numerous dyno pulls on diesels and have never seen opening up the exhaust to cause a lag on the turbo, but the opposite occured, turbo lag was reduced since it was able to spool up quicker.
