Anyone running this lift kit?

I'm getting really anxious to void my drivetrain warranty :D and add some lift for my 2003. This is the first one out and looks ok but I'd rather not use spacer blocks and would prefer new coils up front and at least a new leaf in the back. I'm pretty sure I'm waiting for Skyjacker but man, that truck looks nice with 36" tires! (I want to run 37" on my lift).

I seen an ad for Superlift in the latest issue of Off-Road magazine.

Looks pretty nice.

Says their for 2,4,6" lifts for 3/4 and 1 ton.

superlift.com

I don't know much about lifts, but the picture is cool !!!!!!

lift kit

The Superlift brand kits are supposed to be out by Sept. atleast thats what the rep told me on Wed. Tuff Country 4. 5" run 769. 00 which to me is high since its all spacers of one kind. Skyjacker has not announce anything yet but they should be soon to follow. Also Revteck is making a 5" kit sometime this fall.

I've never heard of RevTek, are they're lifts good quality?

I had a Skyjacker lift on my '96 1500 and it was a good. I want an all spring lift front and rear with longer front control arms.

Superlift seemed to be of similar quality or slightly less than Skyjacker (from what I read) but seemed to require welding whereas Skyjacker's are typically bolt on.

I'd really like a Dick Cepek lift as I think they made the best lifts out there but I contacted Extreme Suspensions who bought them out and they had no plans for a 2003 HD lift kit at all.

You don't want the Tuff Country. They gain all their lift with big 4. 5" spacers. Not the greatest design IMO. Get the Superlift or wait for Skyjackers offering. You will be happier in the long run.

if you guys have proof spacers are bad show me... ... . and tell me why. one other thing, you want to keep stock ride keep stock springs. no way around it.

Well lets see..... Any respectable shop would not install this kit for you. For any shop that would... . just wants your money and doesnt care about you

Nick

First it's just cheap!!! I wan't quality not something retarded as huge spacers. (I dont' ojbect to 2" spacers though)

You dont' take advantage of any extra articulation that the lift gives you cause your on stock springs.

Also, the leverages applied to that big of a spacer are questionable IMO (spring dosen't travel perfectly up and down).

Being steel they are just another item that can break.

This is one of the reasons I haven't gotten a kelderman front kit yet, as the bigger the lift amount the larger the mounts, not bags, used. I've emailed him asking about bigger bags but never got a reply.

I was under the impression that the Kelderman was not really meant for off road. It just gives you the ability to mount larger tires. Looks like the same bags are used for all the different lift heights and all of the lifts have the same amount of travel. I haven't heard of anyone commenting on the off road capability of the air ride.

I e-mailed Kelderman with a couple of questions and got no response either. I guess he doesn't check e-mail. I have heard people get good results when calling though.

I agree w/FDavid. I drive off-road on the farm all day and it's rough. I gave Kent at T. Rex a call the other day when I was harrowing hay w/ the CTD :D . He said the Fox Racing System is the only way to go for what I do. All let you all know how it performs  .

T-rex is a cool set-up but way too expensive for me and i also dont even offroad like they do I may go with a superlift 4" kit.

Nick

I think the t-rex is overpriced IMO.

Although it might not be easy to get the correct valving and everything they worked so hard on for the shocks, and that billet mount (not really necessary IMO, steel could be used).

I really just don't like the fact they say "THIS IS NOT A LIFT KIT" , but they still raise the front end 2 or 2. 5", which anyone can see lift's the truck that amount.

ANyway on the kelderman I need air ride as my sj springs can't handle my truck and plow at the same time, not to mention if i go with a buckstop.

Although not really meant for off road, as long as the bags are somewhat protected, and you use limiting straps there shouldn't be too much of a problem, although an air bag suspension dosen't articulate well at all, unless you play with the bag pressures while articulating and have large bags with a good amount of travel.

I never said it was a good off road suspension though, just relating the big ass mounts they use on the higher lift kits, to the big ass spacers tough country uses.

i still see no proof, these posts are only opinions not facts sorry. just cause its cheap dont mean its no good. nick you must have had some bad issues with some companies to have opinion like that.

 im done with this thread... Im about to do a couple personal attacks so ill just zip it...

Go ahead lift your truck with spacers/blocks... HAVE FUN

From a person who has owned a truck lifted over 12" and made repairs myself on it for 2 years + im telling you all to stay away from crappy kits...

Nick

Made repairs himself but paid $400 for the dealer to install cab lights:rolleyes:

I do however agree with not lifting with Large lift blocks.

One thing you don't want to skimp on is a lift. I've learned the hard way and I had the Tuff Country lift on my 99. Tuff Country is quite possibly the most budget lift on the market. You will not be happy and I guarantee your truck will begin pulling to the right.
